For almost a year and a half we’ve experienced a downward arrow and now we have state wide an increase of 1.5% over last year ( from $232,270 in 2011 to now $235,760. )
The report from CAR said Statewide, the figures show:

State officials have noticed an emerging scam: Callers say they will help homeowners apply for Keep Your Home California benefits for fees of up to $900. The calls are happening statewide.

What does Keep Your Home California do?
• Provide mortgage aid to homeowners who have lost their jobs and are getting unemployment. The most a household can get is $27,000.

Effective April 1, 2012, FHA is increasing the amount needed for upfront (MI) Mortgage Insurance from 1.00% to 1.75% and the Monthly Mortgage Insurance from 1.15% to 1.25%.

 DQ News recently came out with local real estate market numbers and   the report wasn’t too bad. In fact, though the home prices are lower,  homes are selling and at the highest level in the last five years!
We blogged recently homes were becoming more affordable and more  people were able to afford to purchase homes. Well, that is now showing  up in more homes being sold now.
DQ News’ article reported most homes purchased in January were the  single family homes and purchased by first time home buyers and investors.
