Spend the first Saturday in 2016 enjoying the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities. Target sponsors this free event held the first Saturday of every month. Activities for the entire family are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Children love the Art Scavenger Hunt. Instructions for the hunt are available at the table located in the Lobby. Participants hunt for specific sculptures in the Sculpture Garden. Children can team up with parents, siblings, or friends to help them identify the sculptures. This is a wonderful introduction to many types of sculpture located in the Nasher Garden.

Tonight is the night! Enjoy "Aurora 2015," an over the top open-air art event that will blanket the Dallas Arts District with colorful light. Imagine the ultimate contemporary art display using the Arts District as a back drop. The interactive event will stretch from Routh Street to St. Paul and Ross Avenue to Woodall Rogers Freeway, including Klyde Warren Park. Over eighty artists from around the world are participating in "Aurora 2015."
This FREE event coincides with Late Night at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA), 'Til Midnight at the Nasher Sculpture Center, and The Crow Collection of Asian Art.

It's the last weekend of the summer and a perfect night to enjoy the Dallas Arts District's Fall Block Party. Although this is a FREE Event, some special exhibits may require the purchase of a ticket.

Saturday is the perfect day to head to the Nasher Sculpture Center for Target First Saturday. Children's activities, live performances and FREE admission will make this a Saturday to remember. Activities are designed for preschool and elementary aged children. This event is a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the art of sculpture. Saturday is predicted to be 55° and sunny! What a perfect day to enjoy the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities with your entire family. Sponsored by Target, this is a Free event. The Nasher is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and activities are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is designed for children from preschool age to elementary school.
Extra tour guides will be on hand to lead Family Tours from 10:15 to 12:15.

Spring comes early in Dallas. By early March, our daytime temperatures allow us to enjoy most outdoor activities. That means trips to my favorite outdoor places.
The Dallas Arboretum is the perfect place to visit any day of the week if you want to "get away from it all." I love to stroll through the colorful gardens, or sit in the Spring sun, on a bench overlooking White Rock Lake and read a book. Not to be missed is tea at the DeGolyer House, or having a bite to eat at Cafe on the Green. Tea requires advance reservations.

Tonight is is the Dallas Arts District Spring Block Party. The entire family is invited to enjoy activities sponsored by the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center and The Crow Collection of Asian Art. Flora Street and Harwood Street will be alive with music and entertainment beginning at 6:00 PM.
Enjoy snacks, dinner and sweet treats from your favorite food trucks lining the streets. Snacks will also be available at the Nasher Cafe.

Sponsored by Target, First Saturday is a good opportunity to gather up friends and family and enjoy time in the Nasher Sculpture Garden. This Saturday, children's activities begin at 10:00 AM. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to view a sculpture demonstration and create a "Playmate Puppet." One of my favorite activities for kids is the Scavenger Hunt. This Friday, the Nasher Sculpture Center's begins its tenth anniversary celebration in conjunction with the Dallas Arts District Fall Block Party. The Nasher will be open 'til Midnight.
Two music groups will be featured in the garden. Dallas' own alt-country band, Somebody's Darling will play at 7:00 PM. Alpha Rev, will begin playing alternative rock music at 9:00 PM. Each of these groups is exceptional. Check out their music on their websites. This is an opportunity to hear two magnificent groups for FREE!

The Nasher Sculpture Center is hosting a "Gallery Lab and Book Signing" this Thursday. The topic of the evening is the creation of the monograph Richard Patterson. Dallas based artist and author, Richard Patterson, and the book's designer, Mark Thompson, will discuss the making of Patterson's first monograph.
Patterson and Thompson will consider the creation and significance of a monograph versus e-books in our ever expanding electronic world. The Nasher Sculpture Center will officially announce Nasher XChange at the Trinity River Audubon Center Saturday June 15. Nasher XChange will mark the tenth anniversary of the Nasher Sculpture Center with ten works of art completed by ten well known artists. The works of art will be exhibited at sites "to be announced" around the City of Dallas, from October 19 2013 to February 16, 2014.
