Spend the first Saturday in 2016 enjoying the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities. Target sponsors this free event held the first Saturday of every month. Activities for the entire family are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Children love the Art Scavenger Hunt. Instructions for the hunt are available at the table located in the Lobby. Participants hunt for specific sculptures in the Sculpture Garden. Children can team up with parents, siblings, or friends to help them identify the sculptures. This is a wonderful introduction to many types of sculpture located in the Nasher Garden.

Saturday is the perfect day to head to the Nasher Sculpture Center for Target First Saturday. Children's activities, live performances and FREE admission will make this a Saturday to remember. Activities are designed for preschool and elementary aged children. This event is a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the art of sculpture. Pick up the Art Scavenger Hunt instructions in the lobby and search the Nasher Collection for treasures. It's fun to see the children searching for specific pieces of sculpture in the garden. Saturday is predicted to be 55° and sunny! What a perfect day to enjoy the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities with your entire family. Sponsored by Target, this is a Free event. The Nasher is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and activities are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is designed for children from preschool age to elementary school. Friday, May 20, is the kick off of The Nasher Sculpture Center's summer series, Midnight at the Nasher. The summer series will take place the third Thursday of the month. The first event is an "Emerald" opportunity to bring a blanket or lawn chair and sit in the Nasher Sculpture Garden, under the Texas Stars, and listen to first class music and enjoy a movie screening. You can pre-order picnic baskets prepared by Wolfgang Puck's Cafe Nasher restaurant. Emerald City Band will fill the spring air with popular music from the last fifty years. This Saturday, January 22, noted architect Charles Renfro, will speak at The Nasher Sculpture Center, at 1:00. The native Texan, whose work has been exhibited in Museums around the world, will discuss contemporary design, architecture and art. Mr. Renfro, a partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, has been the principal designer of notable projects, including spaces at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and museums around the globe. His architectural group is known for the integration of "architecture, visual arts and performing arts." Now is the time to visit The Nasher Sculpture Center to view the exceptional "Alexander Calder and Contemporary Art: Form, Balance and Joy" show. This show runs through March 6, 2011. "Art Magazine" has added this exhibit to its "Top Ten Shows in U.S. Museums." Quite an honor!
