Spend the first Saturday in 2016 enjoying the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities. Target sponsors this free event held the first Saturday of every month. Activities for the entire family are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Children love the Art Scavenger Hunt. Instructions for the hunt are available at the table located in the Lobby. Participants hunt for specific sculptures in the Sculpture Garden. Children can team up with parents, siblings, or friends to help them identify the sculptures. This is a wonderful introduction to many types of sculpture located in the Nasher Garden.

The Nasher Sculpture Center is planning three events for the Dallas Arts District Summer Block Party. 6:00 PM Connor and Kyle Walden, better known as The Walden Twins, will play guitar, mandolin and suitcase. Yes, you read that correctly! Connor Walden plays the suitcase, like a drum! Enjoy the vocal harmonies and upbeat music produced by this talented duo as you stroll through the Sculpture Garden. 7:00 PM The indie rock band, Quiet Company, will get you up and moving! Saturday is predicted to be 55° and sunny! What a perfect day to enjoy the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities with your entire family. Sponsored by Target, this is a Free event. The Nasher is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and activities are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event is designed for children from preschool age to elementary school. Extra tour guides will be on hand to lead Family Tours from 10:15 to 12:15. One of my favorite activities is the Art Scavenger Hunt. This Saturday, January 22, noted architect Charles Renfro, will speak at The Nasher Sculpture Center, at 1:00. The native Texan, whose work has been exhibited in Museums around the world, will discuss contemporary design, architecture and art. Mr. Renfro, a partner at Diller Scofidio + Renfro, has been the principal designer of notable projects, including spaces at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and museums around the globe. His architectural group is known for the integration of "architecture, visual arts and performing arts."
