According to www.checkfacebook.com there are over  700 million active Facebook users.  An active user is someone who has been on the site in the past 30 days.  Given the number of Facebook users more business are looking to Facebook to advertise their products and services.
Facebook launched their advertising program on November 6th 2006 and Zuckerberg announced "For the last hundred years media has been pushed out to people, but now marketers are going to be a part of the conversation. And they're going to do this by using the social graph in the same way our users do,"

sharon senger: SO WHY IS GOOD FOLLOW UP HARD TO FIND? - 08/10/09 12:53 PM

So why is good follow up hard to find?  How many times have you met someone and have meant to follow up with them, but for one reason or another the days go by and you have not been in contact.  Weeks go by and then you feel that too much time has lapsed for them to even remember you.
Do not fear you are not alone.  Only a small percentage of people actually follow up, so if you want to stand out just send a quick note and you will be miles ahead of the crowd.

sharon senger: 7 TIPS FOR WRITING THANK YOU NOTES! - 07/17/09 05:43 AM
I was with some friends the other evening and one of them said how much they enjoyed receiving my hand written note cards and looked forward to reading the message.
This got me to thinking, is the custom of writing to say thank you something of the past, especially as most of us communicate via Email, Twitter, Facebook etc.  My mother always insisted that we wrote thank you notes and the habit has stayed with me.  I write notes to clients, business associates and of course my family and friends.  I always get a positive response of gratitude and appreciation for … (29 comments)

Most agents when you walk into an open house will greet you at the door and hand you their card and a flyer.  Well they are missing a great opportunity to market their services to potential clients.
How about giving them a "Guest Package" that includes:

sharon senger: ARE YOU USING YOUR USP? - 07/10/09 03:23 AM
You are at a party or networking event and someone asks the inevitable question "So what do you do for a living?"  Do you give the inevitable answer "I'm a real estate agent".  Or, do you have a USP (Unique Selling Proposition) that is a concise statement that you can use as a reply to this question.
Why do you need a USP, because there are millions of agents out there and if you really want to set yourself apart you need something that will make your prospect sit up and take notice and that will influence and motivate them to … (11 comments)

sharon senger: DON'T JUST FEED THEM GET THEIR FEEDBACK! - 07/06/09 12:49 PM
A brokers open is a good way to gather feedback on your new listing.  Create a small questionnaire card that you can give them when they arrive to preview the property.  Let them know that it is their ticket to leave the home (LOL).  By making it anonymous you may get more honest answers.  Have a bowl for them to leave their responses as they exit the door and don't forget the extra pens!
Below is a suggestion of the type of questions you can use for the card, keep it short and simple:

Do you know how many leads your marketing dollars produced?  It is a bit like throwing spaghetti at the wall, not all of it will stick!!!!
One of the ways you can keep track of what is working is a very simple spreadsheet:
Your Virtual Assistant can set this up and keep track of the information so that you will always know the numbers and where your dollars are working.
