halloween decorating ideas: Create Your Own DIY Halloween Creature With PVC Pipe - 10/25/18 06:06 AM
How do you create your own Halloween monster or witch using PVC pipe?
There are plenty of diy videos and tutorials online.
After viewing many of them, I decided to just wing it and come up with a creature using what I had on hand.
The only item I didn't have and had to buy was the pvc pipe. It cost less than $3.00.

I started with a 12' pvc pipe (1/2") and cut as follows:
1 piece 5 1/2' for body
1 piece 4" for neck
2 pieces 7" each for shoulders
2 pieces 2' each for arms

My husband used a hairdryer to heat and bend the arms … (40 comments)

halloween decorating ideas: DIY Halloween Decor - A House Just Isn't A Home Without A Ghost! - 10/23/18 02:37 PM
Halloween is such a fun time for decorating!
My favorite form of Halloween decor is diy projects.
This year I don't really have the time to go all out and I'm keeping the
Halloween decor to a minimum.
I don't have anything Halloween inside the house, except this portrait of my dear parents.

Aren't they adorable?
Mom suffers from headaches. Dad does his best to comfort her.

Two years ago I shared my diy ghost, which ended up going to haunt my daughter's house.
I moved into a new home this year and you know what they say...

halloween decorating ideas: Preparation and Presentation - It's All About The Pumpkins! - 10/29/15 10:57 PM
As a Home Stager, I use the words Preparation and Presentation often.  Add the word Price, and we have the three P's of real estate and the key to a successful home sale.
This time of year, however, preparation and presentation are more likely referring to PUMPKINS!
Whether you leave them au naturel, carve them, paint them, or glue precious gems on them, pumpkins are the decorating staple for fall and Halloween.
Here's how I've decided to prepare and present this year.....

And for the kids:
Paint their pumpkins with chalkboard paint!  Hours of creative fun!!!

halloween decorating ideas: How To Make A Spooky Hand & Other Simple Halloween Decorating Ideas - 10/24/15 11:01 PM
Fun and Easy Halloween Decorating Ideas

I've always enjoyed decorating, but decorating for Halloween is by far the most fun because it's the most creative!
For most people, a scarecrow in the yard and a pumpkin or two on the steps is challenging enough. But it's not really that hard to take it up a notch or two and create some real Halloween fun!

Add branches, dried moss, and pumpkins to urns.
Use hot glue to attach rubber mice to the branches for a spookier look.
It's really easy to make a "witches curtain" using black trash bags.
Cut sides of bags to open up into one … (42 comments)

halloween decorating ideas: Decorating For The Season - Halloween Home Staging - 10/26/14 09:56 PM
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I've always enjoyed the costumes, haunted houses, hay rides and especially the decorating. Decorating for Halloween is a fun family tradition in many homes. Halloween decor has evolved over the years.  No longer is a witch's broom by the door, or a few jack-o-lanterns on the steps going to cut it. People are staging full horror show productions on their front lawns.

So....what about homes that are listed for sale?

NH Home Staging - Decorating For Halloween While Your Home Is For Sale

This time of year the question always comes up...
Can I decorate for Halloween while my house is on the market?

The best advice I have, as a New Hampshire Home Stager, is to keep your decorating simple. Decorate for the season, not specifically for the holiday.
Decorate for fall instead of Halloween
A few strategically placed pumpkins and gourds throughout the home, a basket of apples, tree branches arranged in an urn....you can celebrate the season without distracting potential buyers.
The front door is a great place to decorate for the holidays.
