redesign in st paul: Turning Junk into Jazzy Treasure!

Well....okay it maybe wasn't actually junk but it was buried under a pile of old rusted pails and tools when I found it. I wish I had a picture of it that day as I found it. Anyway...I saw a very 'rustic' table sitting outside of an antique store that was basically blocks of 2 x 4s nailed together with an old picket fence nailed to the back. Here are a couple photos once I got it home and cleaned up.

I am Now a DCC!! And of Course I Had to Reward Myself! Yes....I just completed my training and received my DCC certification. No, not Doctor of Chiropractic, that is a DC. This is much better! Dewey Color Consultant!! How Fun Is That! Yes, I went throught the two day class to learn now to put together 25,000 color combinations and make no mistakes. I learned so much. "We Make Color Easy"!

The Wine Shop is Open! This was a wonderful Design Project I had the privilege to work on. In November I wrote a post that I had been hired to help Design a Wine Shop and wondering if I should barter for my fee. No....I did not barter 'design for wine' but I have already purchased a few bottles! The Shop opened right after Thanksgiving and business is thriving. No offense men, really. But a lamp from a Bachelor Brother may not be the best decorating item. My husband finally got around to unpacking his Christmas gifts after getting back from vacation this week. One I was hoping would stay in the box. The Social Room at this large apartment complex in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN is done! Do you think we can rent it for a party?? Oh, I guess we have to be a tenant. I was hired to Redesign a new social room for one of the properties of a large management company. After gutting and redesigning their model apartment unit, then their offices, then another social room at a different complex....we finally got started on this one. Is it okay to toot my own horn? I feel a little weird about it but if I don't...who will? I found out yesterday that I have been selected as a Semi-Finalist to be one of the next Top MyKirkland's Designers! Yeah!! How cool is that!! After all the applications they have narrowed it down to 20. Now I have to go through a 30 minute interview with the corporate office in Nashville.
