120 Day Guarantee Explained in Plain English
We feel very fortunate to be in a place where most of our business comes from repeat business or from the kind referrals we continue to receive from friends, family and past clients.
However, every once in a while someone might stumble upon Shawna's Home Team through a flyer or a postcard and they don't really know us that well and want to take a closer … (0 comments)

greenwood in realtor: Estridge Extreme Dream Makeover In Indianapolis - 03/16/09 03:59 PM

Wow!  I can't believe that Extreme Home Makeover is actually coming to Indianapolis and on top of that, the builder that is sponsoring the new home is one of my personal favorites, Estridge Homes.
We don't know anything about the chosen family yet, but the door knock will take place March 27th and you can find out more about the family then.
The work will be done March 27th - April 4th and both Skilled and Unskilled Volunteers are needed (I know which group I fall in to...)
But either way, I'm excited and can't wait to figure out a way … (3 comments)

greenwood in realtor: Spring Home Maintenance Tips In Greenwood - 03/14/09 03:12 AM
Although today is a little bit on the chilly side again, wasn't it wonderful to have a glimpse of 70+ degree weather earlier this week?  That means that spring is right around the corner!  Here are some helpful tips from Jim Schwarz at Center Grove Real Estate Inspections to get your home ready for the change of season.
Clean gutters and ensure downspouts and yard drains can drain runoff freely.  This can be done by running a hose into the gutter and watching how the water flows.  Runoff should terminate at least five feet from the foundation of the home. Remove … (5 comments)

As of the time of this writing, these 79 Foreclosures (or possible Short Sales) that are currently listed in Greenwood range in price from $680,000 all the way down to only $24,800....amazing!!!
This is an even better and easier way to search for these types of properties than on our Multiple Listing Service or through the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors.  I'm not even sure that Realtor.com has a searching tool that's this easy.
This is so awesome … (0 comments)

greenwood in realtor: Simple Energy Saving Tips - 12/23/08 12:49 PM
Here's some great advice that our good friend, Jim Schwarz sent to us from Center Grove Real Estate Inspections.  On cold, wintery nights like this one, these sure are some timely tips!
Ensure all windows are tightly closed and latched. Seal all gaps at doorways. Caulk any exterior gaps in siding and trim. Ensure all doors completely close easily and effectively. Reduce home temperature.  Most of us can handle 65F nighttime and 68F daytime temperatures.  The lower energy usage will surprise you. Ensure the fireplace damper is completely closed if not in use. Seal all switch and receptacles in walls to … (1 comments)

greenwood in realtor: A Cheap Thrill For $6.42 - 12/20/08 02:45 PM
OK, have you ever gone through the Chik-fil-A drive thru and when you get up to the window to pay, you're pleasantly surprised to find out that the person in line in front of you has already paid your bill?  Isn't it fun?
Well today, I got an even better treat!  I got to be the person in front that got to pay for the person behind me!
As I drove away, I got stuck at a red light and as I looked in my rear view mirror, here came that same car that had been behind me in the drive … (2 comments)

greenwood in realtor: It's The Price, Stupid! - 12/08/08 12:57 PM
OK, so maybe that wasn't the name of the training I attended today, but it might as well have been because I think that's pretty much the main point that all of us got when it was over.  Our training was taught by Linda McKissack, whose team usually sells around 300 homes a year, so I think she certainly knows what she's talking about.
One of the first things she said today that really got my attention was "Our price is good, but we're just not getting any showings."  Ha!  This caught my attention because I know I've said this myself.  … (0 comments)

greenwood in realtor: Who Wants To Be Average...??? - 12/05/08 02:50 AM
OK, so maybe it's not what we aspire to, but it certainly can be interesting to see how we compare. And in the world of real estate in Greenwood, Indiana the numbers that we found for this past month were definitely an eye opener.
In fact, I double checked all of the numbers more than once just to make sure I hadn't messed something up! Unfortunately, the numbers are correct. Check out what we discovered...
