It's been too long. After over nine years in the Mortgage Industry, I had to hang up my boots when the company I worked with went out of biz. At the time, I didn't quite know what to do with myself. I thought I'd be there for the rest of my life. That was in 2009. Joining the circus wasn't a viable option, though I got along quite nicely with the clowns. I suppose we are upon the season where we extend our gratitude to what we are thankful for. Despite any historical reality of the matter you may have, the general concept is good. Be thankful for the food you eat, the family you keep, and the hours to go before you sleep. And then a dream walks in. While I'm much better off than I was two short years ago, nothing prepared me for the unknown better than staring into the sky. But this sky is a new one, and an old one ... all at the same time. If you happen to be in the Raleigh, North Carolina area in your travels and have a taste for Italian, I'll clue you in what was once the best kept secret in Carolina Cuisine. In Northern Raleigh, just off of Capital Boulevard is a place called CASALINGA. The word means 'Home Cooking' in Italian.
