politics: Well, he's probably right (or left, whatever) ... about that Political & Religious Stuff. - 07/05/12 12:55 PM
I have had the distinct honor of being a part of a forum from pretty much its inception.  That forum is this one.  I've read some very smart guys and gals and in my secret poetic dreams, I sometimes wish I could convey stuff like they do/did.  I ran across one of those very posts today by a guy who seems by all means to be extremely intelligent in a variety of ways.  That's one thing about intelligence, it can not live by bread alone.
J Philip Faranda is probably a bit smarter than me.  Even a tad wiser.  In fact, … (22 comments)

politics: Then there were four. - 01/21/12 02:45 PM
I never wanted to be that guy who was steadfast but wasn't passionate.  I never wanted to be that guy who was informed, yet failed to change their mind if they were wrong.  And that is why I "heart" what is going on with the GOP Nominee situation.  One short year ago, I probably would have written them all off and would never consider voting for any of them.
But times change, and with change ... sometimes comes a rearranging of synapses in one's brain.
And Ron Paul doesn't have my vote just yet:)

politics: My Other Vice ... - 10/31/11 04:46 PM
Okay, I'm a Political Junkie.
True story: When I quit the Mortgage Biz because the company I had worked with went under and it was decided to try to melt into a Mortgage Banker whose level of service reminded me of treating jock itch with sandpaper, I walked out.  But I needed some sort of income while I tried to find the next way I could afford a roof, four walls, dinner, and the the occasional fluffer.  So I decided to work as a cashier at a freaking Grocery Store for a hot moment.  After one month, the gig almost turned … (30 comments)

politics: We can bitch, but we can also elect. - 06/25/11 05:08 PM
If I am not mistaken, it was my sophomore year of college when I was posed with a question.  It was of a general nature in the only writing class I ever took in college.  I was asked who I was voting for in the Presidential Race.
I voted Perot, twice.  Now, had my vote become a reality ... well, who knows what the present would now hold.  And when I told that class the answer, the brilliant retorts of "Wasted Vote" wept like a cloud on a rainy day.  I thought them moronic because I wasn't voting Perot to take … (31 comments)

politics: Weiner Lies ... imagine that. - 06/06/11 04:40 PM
Now I'm not here to pile on Mr. Anthony Weiner, however when has a Weiner ever lied?  Come on gals, can I get an "Amen!"  If this came as a major surprise, you might NOT know A Weiner.
A Weiner has a mind of its own, often controlling the other head involved.
A Weiner doesn't think, only reacts.  And the other head can't think enough to stop the Weiner.
A Weiner sometimes wins and that is why women have a hard (no pun) time with the Male Species.  Women don't have Weiner, and if they do ... they are on the cusp … (30 comments)

politics: Well, it makes Life Interesting .... - 04/23/11 06:25 PM
Tears For Fears kind of put it best.
And my perfect world isn't yours and yours certainly isn't mine.  What's nice about that is that we get to banter back and forth until we either get to Heaven or become a tattoo.  And if I die a bit early, for whomever may be reading, please never let me become that tattoo.  I'd rather be in our idea of Purgatory.
Watching Political Discourse is interesting, at best.  I suppose I believe that everyone involved (no matter their outlook) is wanting the best for Humanity as a whole.  And I suppose I'm pretty … (73 comments)

politics: Friday's Frisky Fiesta! Or, a rant by the Lone Stranger. - 04/08/11 03:30 PM
And ...
cut to the opening!
I still believe you can solve all the ills and differences in the world with one sentence.  I just don't believe I can provide it ...
... Which explains why I can't conjure up an appropriate comment to many posts I read around here.  Let me illustrate some examples without giving out the author's name, link, or IQ :
One man waxed pious in regards to the heated debate over Government Spending.  Okay, I'm on board so far.  The Title of the Post would have the reader believe that he watched too many Viagra Commercials … (19 comments)

politics: What I learned from the State of the Union Speech. - 01/25/11 03:10 PM
Being a critic and/or wallflower is easy and sometimes rather enjoyable. Boehner seemed depressed and drunk at times with that glowing red face and hunched back posture in the chair Pelosi use to pass gas on. Speaking of drunk, what was Biden laughing at in various moments?  It's almost as if our President was wearing ass-less chaps behind that podium and Joe was the only one who realized it. But seriously, being born in 1976 and never really getting into politics until Ross Perot peeked his beady little head into the fold, I cynically wonder if I learned anything.  I didn't watch … (29 comments)

politics: How To Lose Subscribers The Ole' Fashioned Way! - 01/06/11 04:14 PM
RIP, Man.
What many may not know about me is that I have an Excel Spread Sheet Set up with each one of my Subscribers, the number of comments they have made on my posts, and whether their blood type will feed my yearning body if I so need it.
For example, I recently wrote a post that lost me three subscribers.  Before that, I wrote one that gained me two.  Two posts before the one that gained me two, I lost four, but gained five on a previous post just months earlier.
My guess is most folks who legitly are in … (33 comments)

politics: Lessons of Humanity. - 10/12/10 05:09 PM
How do I explain this?
Not sure, but it sure does feel good.  It transcends the typical day by day life that we lead.  At least the one I lead.
I am cheering for them to live another day.
Here I am, comfortable in the confines of my own existence and I'm sitting here and cheering internally for folks I don't even know.  They don't even speak the language I speak.  They don't even live in the country I live.  Heck, they don't even know I exist in the most tangible of terms.
Yet, here I am looking at the rescue of those … (26 comments)

politics: What I Want In A Politician. - 09/09/10 04:39 PM
As typical, Politics can be a heated type of thing in American Culture.  These day aren't new, probably just more pronounced.  For the most part, I consider that a good thing.  Ideas and opinions get exchanged like business cards at your local Chamber of Commerce get together.
But I'm looking for something new, through and through.  I'm not talking about a Revolution or Coup d'etat, but more along the lines of your better than average, caring, open-minded type of guy or gal who isn't afraid to flush twice.  Someone who either has enough money not to care or enough balls to say NO to any … (29 comments)

politics: Politics, perhaps a contrarian view? - 08/30/10 04:16 PM
As I watch and listen and take the paper with me to read while I introduce my next steamer to the plumbers of our great Nation, I'm constantly reminded by things that just don't make sense to me in Politics.  Well, I suppose they make sense because there tends to be an agenda involved.  And if you were to take money and power out of the equation, it would be interesting to see how people really feel about certain issues.  But, we aren't living in an utopia so I'll go off of the very world we live in.  I'll leave the utopian crap to Povich … (37 comments)

politics: If this were the last post I were to ever write... - 12/08/07 04:36 AM
...I would probably make it my worst.  Under-achieving is a niche in of itself:-)  I would also probably share what I consider 'Common Sense Ideals' with the majority to see, if only I could help make it a reality to all.
While dealing with the debacles of computer viruses and spam, I've finally overcome them to write words that I'm not quite sure should be written.  Words that tag my soul, my thoughts, my heart, as if forever was around the corner.  It's not....not yet.  I came here like Dan & Belushi, on a mission from God.  I'll leave when God wants … (40 comments)
