Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. In real estate as in life things happen that we don't plan for or count on. Often concerns arise at the most inopportune time and how we deal with these dilemmas in large part defines whether or not we get through them. I always start with breath. After that if logic is possible it is time to rel...
This happens. People enumerate what they like, what they want and what they must have, and then they start looking at homes. You know when you see it, and when it feels right even though it bears no resemblance to what you were looking for. I have seen this again and again, and I have even been g...
I know I heard that a red sky at night meant something for the next day: I just don't remember what. The northern lights may have come by in the last couple of nights but I didn't see them. I couldn't make this up, nor would I. Imagine a special day carved out to celebrate one of my favorite treats. Apparently, this began around 1895 and is an ongoing tradition, but who cares about history when you can celebrate a delicious treat. I own a very old Gilchrist Number 25 Beauty, Milksha...
In New Jersey where I practiced it is common for buyers and sellers to use an attorney for their real estate transactions. There are parts of the state that do it differently, and I am sure this is also true in other states. That said, choosing an attorney is essential and it is one of the most i...
Today is a difficult day. It is an anniversary of the unthinkable and a reminder of the new, harsh and yet frightening reality we all know. Each year I am saddened and torn by that reality. I have stuff in my own life happening but today it doesn't seem to matter.
