So is this really the year to make that move up or purchase for the 1st time? I know, we have heard this each of the last 3 years as the market has continued to slide. After all a broken clock is right twice daily, so maybe the clock will be right after this :-) There are always two sides to this kind of subject. While the housing market is maybe seeing signs of recovering and still dealing with a struggling economy the FHA has decided to up the MIP from 1.75% to 2.25% and decreasing the maximum allowed seller contributions from 6% to 3%(which I don't believe is such a huge issue. The FHA is also imposing a higher fico score minimum which I also do not have a problem with, because the minimum is 580. To Boot, the April 30 the Home Buyer Tax Credit is set to expire.
