In fact I cringe when I hear of buyers just walking into the builders office and buying without an agent. No one to look after their best interests. You have decided to buy a new home. STOP and read this before you go any further. I know you are tempted to go jump in the car and start looking at model homes this weekend. Do your homework first. Before you start looking…make sure you know what you can spend. You may know around the amount that you want the monthly payment to be…but you have several things to consider getting to that amount. Builders…What were you thinking? I get pretty frustrated with builders. I just wrote a check to a guy to come remove trees and stumps around the edge of the house. The neighbors had their drawers in a wad that there had better not be any damage to their sprinkler systems…well duh…since it was mostly my yard they were in, and I would be responsible… you don’t think I am hoping the same thing too! Builders…make sure your landscapers don’t plant trees so close to the house. It is a cute little sprig now…but in 10 years or so… those … (42 comments)

Floor Plans For Every Home I know…I am dreaming again! Wouldn’t it be great if builders filed a floor plan when they built a home? I would guess about 99% of the time sellers don’t have the floor plan to their home. Not everyone gets one even when they buy a brand new home. Wouldn’t it be great if a floor plan was put on file, just like a survey with every property? Perhaps just include it in with the tax info.
