According to Census Bureau estimates released Thursday, four metropolitan areas in Texas were among the biggest population gainers in 2006 and 2007. At the top of the list is the combined Dallas - Ft. Worth area which grew by more than 162,000 residents. A report issued earlier this month by Global Insight reported that housing prices in the Dallas area were undervalued by as much as 30 percent. 16 percent of Americans who moved to other states between July 2006 and July 2007 came to Texas. I just discovered the website designhergals, which lets you create a cute cartoon image of yourself or any woman you know and then have it printed on stationery, notecards, stickers, etc. I was playing around with it and created little cartoons of myself and my daughter. Quite by accident I came across the website for Riven Rock Ranch Resort on the Boerne Chamber of Commerce website. The ranch resort is located near Boerne and Comfort in Kendall County. I was totally unaware of it's existence. This looks like a great place for locals to visit, especially for an Easter brunch/dinner. The city of Boerne is named for Ludwig Borne, who inspired many young men to leave Germany in the 1840's and travel to the new world. Some of these German pioneers created a settlement called "Tusculum" near present day Johns Road. Even after most of the original creators had moved on, a few of the men decided to remain and named the area Boerne. I am not a fan of flying and I will probably never own a home in a residential airpark. That being said, it is a form of residential home ownership I find fascinating.
