homes in san antonio: Rent or own? - 04/03/14 06:46 AM
One of the principal attractions of home ownership is the fact that it provides a very significant set of financial benefits. While this is true at any time of year, many of them become particularly obvious during tax season, so this is a good time for a quick reminder.
The most obvious benefit is the range of tax benefits available to home owners. These include:
Mortgage interest deduction – this can often provide a very large deduction, particularly in the early years, as for many mortgages interest is the largest component of the monthly payment. Similarly, interest on a home equity loan or … (0 comments)

homes in san antonio: SOLD! Gorgeous home with pool at 3255 Roan Way, San Antonio, TX 78259 - 04/06/13 07:56 AM
My clients are retiring and downsizing to a smaller home, so they have put their exquisitely maintained home on the market.  Over the last couple of years, they expanded the deck, added a pergola cover to the patio, and planted trees and drought-resistant flowering shrubs.
Their grandchildren are going to miss playing in the beautiful back yard and swimming pool. And I will miss them when they move!

homes in san antonio: Showing feedback - please! - 07/14/12 11:57 PM
Dear Buyer's Agent:
I don't care how busy, or tired, or important you are, my sellers are anxiously awaiting feedback from your showing of their property. They want to know how it looked, what your buyers thought, and if there is anything else they can do to improve its appearance.
Nothing is more frustrating to a seller when they have gone to all the trouble of tidying up, putting away the pets, and rushing out of the house than not knowing how it went.
Even though feedback is not always useful, I think it's the mark of a professional to respond … (11 comments)

homes in san antonio: Sold! and ready to remodel: 314 Country Wood, San Antonio, TX 78216 - 06/14/12 12:38 AM
This faded beauty of a custom home in Woodlands of Camino Real will reward someone's vision, investment, and hard work! It needs cleaning, updating, and repairs, hence the asking price that is well below market and the property tax assessment.  The seller needs to downsize and cannot put any more money into maintaining or updating the home. It has good bones and will make someone a fabulous home; plus, if you buy it now, you can enjoy swimming in the fantastic pool before the end of summer!

homes in san antonio: Let's List High To See What We Can Get for Our Home - 03/23/12 09:05 AM
I lost a listing in Rogers Ranch (not named after me, at least as far as I know) because I didn't succeed in making the owner see that his house would not sell for what he wanted. At least, that was my understanding. I was referred to him by a friend, so I thought he would be open to my advice. However, the seller told me he chose another agent because he had a better "rapport" with her.
That listing agent put it on the market for about $70,000 more than what the sales comparables I showed him indicated would be realistic. Six … (0 comments)
