When we chat with real estate agents and brokers about our mobile real estate app, oftentimes the phrase “not tech-savvy” arises as to why they have not yet implemented a real estate app for their business. In a recent press release from the Wall Street’s Journal, Market Watch, the results of a survey at the 2012 Leading Real Estate Companies of the World(R) Conference that began yesterday in Orlando, FL showed that of all the mobile technology available realtors today, the iPad app is most sought after. We agree, since the launch of the Smarter Agent iPad app many of our clients have been asking us to brand the app for them.

real estate application: Broker Owners: Be Informed When Using Aggregator Sites

After listening more to this aggregator debate I still need a few answers, and thanks Victor Lund at Wave and others that added insight.
My general feeling is that franchisors and market leading broker-owners should not send listings to aggregator sites. But I do see the reasons mentioned that brokers that can’t market their own brand effectively may opt to use aggregators more heavily.
Here are some reasons for my opinion:

Recently I put my house on the market. Being a member of the Smarter Agent team, I was excited to see my listing show up in the Smarter Agent mobile app. My house went on the market at 2:19 PM on a Friday and was live in the Smarter Agent mobile app by the time I woke up on Saturday morning (to be precise, it was actually live in the app at 1am on Saturday morning).
