What to look for when buying a Bank Owned in Newport Coast Even though the market looks like it has bottomed out and on a mild increase, there are still bank owned that can represent a bargain. But its not a bargain if you dont know what to look for and watch out for. Bank owned ( or REO's meaning Real Estate Owned) can range in size and price and with record low interest rates, even if they drop a shade more you are still getting a deal if the rates raise. The Lending institutions are showing a profit again. Even though they are losing money on their Bank Repos and Short Sales they are showing a profit. How does that happen? Is this because of the government assistance? Are they returning the money to "we the People" from the profits? It seems as though the outlook is upward. Interest rates are low, the Stock Market has hit the 10,000 mark for the first time this year; which is a milestone! Multiple offers on homes below $430,000.
