Keep Cobb Beautiful is sponsoring “Bring One for the Chipper,” a free tree-recycling drop off at Fullers Park at 3499 Robinson Road, Harrison Park at 2650 Shallowford Road and Sewell Park at 2085 Lower Roswell Road. Trees can be dropped off at these park sites through January 4th. Christmas trees can be recycled to create fuel, mulch, habitats for wildlife and other useful materials. Keep Cobb Beautiful offers Christmas tree recycling through East Cobb Home Depots as well. In appreciation of your recycling efforts, recyclers will receive a seedling while supplies last. The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale. The Marietta Freedom Parade includes 110 entries, 2,000 participants and an estimated 30,000 spectators. The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.
