market report: Black Forest Homes Remain Popular with Buyers - 09/09/13 11:13 PM
The Black Forest remains a popular place to buy country homes in the Colorado Springs area.  
 
Although homes in the million dollar price range are not selling yet, numerous homes are selling in the lower price ranges.   As of yesterday, 131 homes have sold in the Black Forest for prices ranging from $132,000 to $859,000 this year.   Ironically, as of Sept 9, there are 131 homes currently available for sale - the same number that has sold.  17 of those are in the 1-2 million dollar price range.   Of the homes that sold, the majority were in either the 200, … (7 comments)

market report: Colorado land IS selling: Colorado Springs Land Market Report - 09/30/11 02:07 PM
Despite all the doom and gloom that you hear on the news, land IS selling in the Colorado Springs area.  In fact, 7 more land transactions closed this year between June 1 and Sept. 29 as compared to the same time period last year. Over the last four months, 34 land transactions closed as compared to 27 last year.    Additionally, more expensive tracts have been selling this year.

When is the Best Time to Sell Your House?  It depends on your market and your personal circumstances.
 
For example, in the Bryan -College Station, Texas market about 50 percent of the home sales occur in May, June, July and August.   To describe it another way, your home is twice more likely to sell in June than it would in October.        
 
However, in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area, the seasonal fluctuations are not nearly as pronounced.

market report: Are Home Sales being Affected By Gas Prices? - 05/15/11 04:13 PM

Today, as I was looking at last months gas receipts, I found myself wondering if the high gas prices this year are affecting the sale of homes, especially those that are out outside of the city limits? 
The average price for gas in Rocky Mountain Region was $2.69 on March 8, 2010, according to ConsumerReports.Org.  A year later, it had risen to $3.30.  By May 9, 2011 it is at $3.75 per gallon.
Is this impacting the sales of homes on acreage in the Colorado Springs area? These homeowners have a longer commute and will thus be spending more on … (9 comments)
