north carolina: Gas prices rising again..... - 01/12/09 07:47 AM
After falling for more than three months, gasoline prices in the New Bern area are quickly rising again this week.
Prices at some stations increased at least 15 cents in about 24 hours Wednesday. Fuel Warehouse on Glenburnie Road was selling a gallon of unleaded for $1.52 on Tuesday afternoon. The price was $1.58 on Wednesday morning and $1.68 by the afternoon. The national average was also $1.68, seven cents higher than the same time last week.

north carolina: WOW it is December...... - 12/24/08 05:52 AM
Wow it is December ......again.....and we realize that 2008 is almost over!   2008 Has been a very challenging year for most of us with a declining Real Estate Market, summer of astronomical gas prices, stock market roller coaster, elections and last how about Clay Aiken being gay!
I just wanted to use this opportunity to extend a big "Thank You" to each and every one of you, for the huge impact you had on my life this year. Especially for all the support and e-mails I received.......without you, I'm sure that 2008 would have been extremely boring.

north carolina: Merry Christmas to out service members - 12/16/08 09:20 PM
Our thoughts are with our military members and their families, as this is a difficult time of year to be separated.
I wanted to use this opportunity to ask you to support numerous charity organizations that directly help our service man and women.
In October, President Bush signed the fiscal 2009 defense budget which authorized a 3.9% pay raise for service members, which will take effect 1 January 2009. This represents a one-half-percent increase over Bush's initial request. So we can look forward to that in the coming year! I am optimistic that we will see lots of positve changes … (3 comments)

north carolina: Kitchen Fire - 12/10/08 02:00 AM
This is a dramatic video (30-second, very short) about how to deal with acommon kitchen fire ... oil in a frying pan. Read the following Introduction, then watch the show ... It's a real eye-opener!!
At the Fire Fighting Training school they would demonstrate this with a deep fat fryer set on the fire field. An instructor would don a fire suit and using an 8 oz cup at the end of a 10 foot pole, toss water onto the grease fire.
The results got the attention of the students. The water, being heavier than oil, sinks to the bottom where it … (6 comments)

Is it finally time to get off the fence and buy?
If you have been paying close attention to real estate market in the past two years as most of us have you have witnessed a steady decline, decline and some more decline in prices as well as sales. However you must have noticed last four weeks different trend. Sales are up almost 10% in most of the markets as well as sales prices. That might not seam significant but if you take in to consideration that we are entering holiday season witch is typically our slowest time of a … (4 comments)

north carolina: Good price VS Incentives?! - 09/25/08 02:32 PM
Good price VS Incentives?!
This home offered with a boat! Car conveys with accepted offer! Buy this house and get $30,000 car!
Do incentives really work? Not anymore. I am so relived to see them leave in my market as well as bonuses for buyers agents.
"Incentives " - FREE offers for buying a property. Logic behind is to motivate buyers to buy or selling agent to sell but does it really work? Not really, every time I show a home that is being offered with boat, car or what so ever buyer's spontanius reaction is "this house is overpriced" … (12 comments)

north carolina: Use your IRA to invest in Real Estate - 09/11/08 12:21 AM
Use your IRA to invest in Real Estate
Many people are still unaware that it is now legal to invest funds from you retirement accounts. And that there can be significant tax advantages to doing so. Property transaction has to be handled though custodian, offer is written in the name of IRA account and IRA pays all of the taxes and fees. After you sell property and hopefully you do so for the profit, original investment plus the profit rolls back in to your IRA TAX FREE!

north carolina: Are your sellers still in denial? - 08/27/08 02:20 AM
I am very positive person! I try to surround myself with positive people all the time.

But being positive and acknowledging situation are two different things!  Prices have come down and are still coming down but there are still sellers that are in denial and that are expecting some kind of appreciation. Maybe even more aggravating to me is that there are still agents that are in denial and overpricing houses. (I often wonder how they can afford that in the market like we have it right now, LOL I guess that will be my next post)
