In spite all of time I have spent waiting for the bridge to close (with to screaming children in the background) it maid me very sad to see it leave New Bern for good. The Cunningham Bridge was built in 1955 and with his huge span became New Bern's waterfront landmark. After weeks of delays 500 Tons steal span finally left New Bern and Trent River yesterday at 3.09 PM. There where more then a hundred spectator watching it leave for Edenton, NC.
