children: Happy Father's Day! - 06/14/14 09:56 PM
Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to a man who has shown a true commitment as Sebastian and Spensyr's father and to the bestest husband a woman could ask for.

He is the reason my heart still skips a beat when I think of him…and no I do not have arrhythmia! I love you honey the mostest!

Happy Father's Day to all who are called Dad and have taken on that ever-important role in a child's life!

children: Following a similar path... - 05/31/14 01:01 AM
Following a similar path...

Parents possess high hopes for their offspring, wishing them a better life with exceptional opportunities that most definitively soar higher than their own. Teaching life lessons early on ensures an eager audience and a willingness to follow.
Some will choose a similar route or create their own path and then some will take to the skies, knowing no limits or boundaries.
Happy Saturday all!

children: For Pete's sake…Peter Cottontail's that is! - 04/16/14 11:50 PM
For Pete's sake…Peter Cottontail's that is!

Parents: Be smart about choosing Easter gifts for your small children! Live bunnies and chicks are cute until they grow up. Most children will lose interest once the newness wears off, realizing they must take care of them.

We have found several domestic rabbits in our yard that once belonged to area families, starving, barely clinging to life. Apparently, they were no longer CUTE or ENTERTAINING enough once they became adults!

All animals take loving care and a true commitment for their well-being. THINK before you purchase, for Pete's sake!

children: The Sky is FALLING!!! The Sky is... - 02/18/14 12:11 AM
The Sky is FALLING!!! The Sky is...

As we descended into town the morning of school, I soon realized the roiling clouds were covering the mountains and landscape around us and a thick fog had set in. From the back seat, my 8-year old son became very upset, saying "The sky is falling" .. It was a slight declaration that soon turned into loud, panicky snippets of..."THE SKY IS FALLING!" "THE SKY IS FALLING!"
I explained that it was just cloud cover due to abrupt temperature changes, that it would clear off as we got closer to town, trying my best to comfort him. … (11 comments)

children: Family matters during the Holidays! - 11/27/13 02:36 AM
Family matters during the Holidays!

The holidays have always been spent together. As a family. Always. My husband and I are very traditional in our ways and hope that our children will recognize the importance of sharing special times together as they mature.
This is the first year we will spend Thanksgiving with just the two of us. The Empty-Nester syndrome is finally here upon us. And how! Up to now, our lives have revolved around our children, all decisions made with them in mind, schedules adjusted to accommodate theirs.
Our oldest son joined the Navy just over a year … (15 comments)

children: Count your many blessings. What are you Thankful for? - 07/12/13 12:01 AM

Count your many blessings. What are you Thankful for?

When my oldest son was still a small child, he would open the blinds first thing in the morning, look at me and say, "It's a beautiful day mom!"

No matter the weather. It could be hailing, sleeting, raining, blowing or snowing and the results were always the same. I am thankful for his ability to lean toward the brighter side on a regular basis. His attitude changed my outlook on life then and I still relate to this when life's challenges come front and center.

I have been blessed with a wonderful family. My … (9 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Empty nest syndrome.

One has flown. One will go in just a few months.
Where is the unbridled joy that I am supposed to be feeling, that my friends reveled in when their children left home? I feel instead a void, a loneliness, a loss. On the other hand, my husband is already making plans to turn our oldest son's room into a home office / guest room.
He is looking forward to just him and me. He and I. Us.
I am such a Mom! Hands on. Constantly hovering, waiting to be dispatched when the need … (9 comments)

children: Coins for Kids. Giving back in Southern Utah 2012! - 12/12/12 10:36 AM
Coins for Kids. Giving back in Southern Utah 2012!
To date this year, Coins for Kids has raised about $65,000 with the goal of raising twice that amount to purchase gifts for financially challenged families in the Southern Utah area. C'mon everyone! Together we can make this happen as a community for all children in need!
There are several agents in the Prado & Kramer Real Estate office that will help wrap the gifts at the Dixie Center this year. We grab a sandwich and a drink and catch up with each other while snipping paper, wrapping, taping and bow tying each gift with care in anticipation … (7 comments)

children: HAPPY HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY Spensyr! - 08/03/12 12:52 AM

HAPPY HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY Spensyr!
Thank you for all the amazing memories and for being a wonderful son. Through the years, you have taught me many lessons of patience, the art of truly listening and filled my heart to overflowing with your sweet smile and unconditional love.
You never cared where we were going as long as you could go along and as the years passed, we got busy with school, sports and summer vacations.  Not once did I watch the clock to wish the day was over.
Every moment with you has been well spent and the rewards are … (11 comments)

children: Update on Britts Bears ~ Pay It Forward: Brittany Mossor - 12/24/11 06:30 AM

Pay It Forward: Brittany Mossor Wednesday, December, 21 2011 @ 9:51 PM
Brittany Mossor knows what it's like to spend the holidays in the hospital. To bring comfort to other kids, she's delivering bears to Primary Children's Medical Center, with a little help from the KUTV... http://www.ksl.com/?nid=441&sid=18571730&title=tooele-teen-provides-bears-for-sick-kids-wins-a-high-5 A few days ago, I wrote a story about one Utah teen who turned a debilitating experience into something wonderful by raising money to purchase teddy bears to cheer up ill children at Primary Children's Hospital during the Holidays. She was featured on 2 separate television spots that tell the story better than I ever … (0 comments)

children: Memories of Gift Giving: “It’s The Thought That Counts!” - 12/24/11 03:46 AM
Memories of Gift Giving: “It’s The Thought That Counts!”

There were 8 children in my family and I remember our dad giving us each $10 one time to buy him a Christmas gift.

We all went shopping seperately and because we didn’t get

together to discuss what we wanted to get for

him to avoid multiples of the same

gift, he ended up with 8 fancy desk pen sets that were exact!
The look on his face

as he began to unwrap each gift was priceless and was a perfect example of

“It’s The … (6 comments)

Christmas Wish List: A toothbrush and toothpaste

While wrapping gifts and clothes for financially disadvantaged children, a fellow wrapper came across the Wish List with names and ages tucked inside her bag. On it was a teen's biggest hopes for Christmas and instead of a skateboard or I-pod or X-box, he wished for a toothbrush and toothpaste.

Talk about being humbled.

Immediately, tears came to my eyes, her eyes and we both couldn't believe that this boy didn't even have the bare necessities to ensure personal hygiene! A toothbrush and toothpaste is not a luxury item but this Christmas he got his wish and … (25 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Each child has its fairy godmother in its own soul...

A youngster commits to the moment, not a second back nor a glimpse ahead and sees a world without taint, intolerance, anger or blame. Their unbridled joy lights from the eyes spreading throughout the face, igniting the hearts of those present!
I am thankful for the little ones. Happy Sunday to you all!
