Positioning Oneself for Success.
There are many species of Praying Mantis, who possess the ability to remain elusive to the naked eye of all passerby, deeming closer consideration. As a means of survival, they achieve daily goals, without fail.
Self-motivation plays a large part to attaining prosperity. Unlike the praying Mantis, we must be seen and heard in order to be effective for clients who depend on us to guide them toward their own successes.
These 3 things may help:
1. Consistent methods - Create trust relationships with clients through dependability.
2. Follow through - Value other people's time, committing sincerely to time-frames.
3. Effective preparation - Be on the ready to be the source for all local information.

A question was recently asked in the Q & A section about whether it is important for real estate professionals to have a nice car? Based on experience, my answer was...If it is kept clean - inside and out - it should not matter.
When clients are coming to town, I will still wash my car whether they ride with me or not. Every single time it is pertinent to make a great first impression, we all know that we very rarely get a second chance to prove ourselves.
And your thoughts?

They have to learn it and earn it. Durn it!
Whose responsibility is it to ensure favorable outcomes for newbie agents, when 75% fail prior to their 2nd year? Success takes determination, self-motivation, self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
Parents who coddled their kids, enabling dependence on everyone else for everything, did them no favors. I refuse to take on a parenting role for adults who decline to help themselves in the workplace.
Besides, some have unrealistic expectations. They try to outsmart the industry by taking shortcuts and forgoing the work, lacking the necessary drive to consistently pursue opportunities as they present.
They are responsible for successes and failures. Not me. Not you!

A short while ago, I asked a question in the Q & A section of ActiveRain: An agent wants to include a home buyer family bio, including photos, when submitting an offer to purchase to garner an emotional response. Do you include it, yes or no?

A leader knows the way, the boss steers the trip.
Our granddaughter's Kenslee Mae and Peanut are best friends who love and respect each other. Peanut unexpectedly picked up the pace, stretching the lease taut. The result; Kenslee fell, scratching the palm of her hands.
Which reminds me: Effective teamwork means all are on board, working for the same goals. Changes in direction are communicated when a transaction takes an unexpected turn so all may react, moving forward together.

Change is the act of making or becoming different, being an inevitable force. Some people stagnate, getting lost in their distress while others embrace it with anticipated excitement. When less reluctant to change, the easier it is to move forward and once there, the fear is no longer a factor.
With change comes growth, so stretch yourself and get out of that comfort zone. Even a cat looks outward and upward for inspiration. Ask Tux!

Will this be the best Jan-YOU-ary yet?
Most industry professionals plan ahead by implementing tools to gage success, focusing on desired results and pushing themselves to achieving the goals set forth. So far, I am on track this month.
Making phone calls, following up and though with past and present clients allows the pipeline to fill for future business. Continuing to get up, dress up and show up with purpose leads the way to success.

In any profession, there are those who put in 110% and then some who get by with minimal effort. Our daughter-in-law is proof that when you consistently embrace the challenge and move forward with confidence, the rewards are endless.
We are so very proud of our daughter Devyn and all that has been accomplished during her tour in the United States Navy. Not only has she received a Navy Achievement Medal but also made Junior Sailor of the Year for the Pacific Northwest.

Incredible opportunity begins where uncertainty ends.
For us humans, maintaining a strong work ethic daily with life's ups and down is pertinent to striking a balance in life. Overcoming feelings of inadequacy or fear are a must.
Desire and motivation play a role in successful habits. A strong work ethic matters in the Praying Mantis’ life. Instinctively, each day is taken to the highest potential without fail.
As we walked through Nerdin Gardens over the weekend, picking vegetables, there they were, on the ready! Which proves that the work has to be done to gain exceptional results.

Yesterday, a potential buyer inquired about a land lot listing for sale. He traveled out to the spot where he believed it was located and then called me, describing the surrounding area.
He was mistaken, saying there were abandoned cars, trailers and equipment near the lot. I refuted that. Then he said, “You are wrong. When you figure it out, why don't you call me back?”
He assumed that I was going to agree with his point of view, which I did not. Again, he was supplied with the same viable information as before. Besides, I always do my ‘home work’ prior to listing.

Business before Beauty!
Lately, business has revved up. Most likely due to the recent vacation taken to see our children and gorgeous one year old Gbaby Kenslee Mae. My hairdresser sent a message saying I was due for a hair appointment.
That will wait as I am in the middle of two transactions in progress, doing paperwork for six listings plus working on getting a buyer couple under contract. I may end up resembling a beast by the end but do I care?

Spring has arrived in St. George, Utah! As I was admiring these tiny pink flowers, a Honeybee came floating by, touching down and dancing among them all. It reminded me of how others rely on successsul outcomes.
A Honeybee's determined work ethic ensures future days. Clean air, sunny days and mild temperatures play a large part, though when there is a goal to be met, no excuses are legitimate enough to prevent the intended purpose.
No room for failure when so many are dependent!

There is much participation as a member of a gardening group on Facebook. People post their prized produce and flower photos. Questions are asked and seasoned dirt lubbers are more than happy to answer, based on their experiences.
A woman found a Praying Mantis pod on a tree she pulled inside for the winter and set outside again. She was curious, asking members what in the world it could be. Should she take it off...could the mother still be in the basement...would the pod damage the tree? The art of listening lends to giving undivided attention by showing sincere interest in a discussion. It is imperative to decipher subtle nuances in conversations that may be brushed over quickly but become a major point of awareness once the home search begins.
