excellent business practices: No reason to get HAWSTYLE!
- 05/17/15 05:29 AM
No reason to get HAWSTYLE! It's true that some people become more aggressive once behind the wheel while driving down the road. While we cannot be responsible for other people's actions, we are accountable for our own. In light of every day occurances of road rage, it is best to keep all limbs, hands -and- fingers inside the moving vehicle at all times so there is no reason for anyone to get HAWSTYLE! Enjoy your Sunday all, it's looking pretty relaxing here at home, no driving required!

excellent business practices: Agents: Check your closing stats!
- 05/12/15 02:31 AM
Agents: Check your closing stats! To receive credit for all the work done in getting a client to the closing table, be sure to monitor your sales record. Some agents will be more than happy to fluff their statistics with your numbers! Recently, after closing a transaction, I looked up the MLS sheet to ensure the information followed through correctly. According to the listing agent's office, she listed -and- sold the property, giving me credit as co-selling agent. Mighty kind of her to include me in the transaction at all! I contacted her brokerage office and was informed they could do nothing about it...which is the reason I am here to advise

excellent business practices: Fishing is akin to prospecting, both can net positive results!

Fishing is akin to prospecting, both can net positive results! Being successful takes time, whether fishing or prospecting for new clients. This advice can be invaluable when implemented and may result in a full belly and filling the business pipeline. Prospecting: Maintaining focus. Follow up and follow through consistently, be available and informative. Fishing: Reacting too soon to the tug on the line and the fish is gone. Fishing: Pulling too hard and you may lose the bait, the rigging and the fish! Prospecting: You may lose a few but if patient, you will net positive results. Fishing: Success is the moment to pull your pole upward at precisely

Be Accountable. Pack your own chute.
Seasoned paratroopers intimately know the inherent risks of doing a job right the first time. A parachute packed correctly means a person will continue to carry on and make future plans. Packed hastily or carelessly and uh-well, you know the outcome. Here are 5 tips based on my past experience that can keep you landing safely in business. Develop a Business Plan. Include short-term as well as long-term goals. No reason for it to be extraordinary or overly sophisticated. It’s as simple as writing down 2 listings and 2 closings per month. Keep it Simple. Do not over-complicate processes and procedures by adding a multitude of duties and responsibilities.

excellent business practices: Real estate success is more than just a pretty face!
- 08/20/14 12:50 AM
Real estate success is more than just a pretty face! When first starting out, it is essential to find a mentor to help gain valuable insights in your chosen industry. Someone willing to candidly share their many years of experience, along with an ability to stimulate and encourage business growth. Mine was an agent who had been in the business 25+ years, who was still excited and motivated to meet the work day, no questions asked! He gave some timeless advice that I still carry today. He advised me to: treat everyone fair show respect to all and be prepared above all else! I learned a hard lesson on

Are you ready to take on the New Year? Self-improvement comes with change and much work to achieve desirable results. There are 3 things a person can do to maintain focus when making changes in life: Write it down Set the goal Put in motion It is rather simple when you break it down in it's entirety and not necessary to flourish with big words and overly embellished descriptions. excellent business practices: I WON! THANKS TO ALL who showed your support!

I WON! THANKS TO ALL who showed your support! Prado & Kramer Real Estate started a contest a month ago and offered a fantastic prize to the agent who tallied the most recommendations from their SOI. It never has been easy for me to ask for a recommendation but wanted to give it a try and what a wonderful surprise to find out what people really think! This has been a true test of the power of successful practices combined with social media and what it can do for your business. I am blessed to be in an industry that I love,

excellent business practices: Thankful Thursdays: A word up!

Thankful Thursdays: A word up! What better way to promote your skills and customer care than a 'word up' regarding your talents? Whether it comes from: peers co-agents or very satisfied clients Sharing positive experiences does help propel business forward. it is perfectly okay to ask for a written appraisal from satisfied clients once a transaction has recorded. Of course, one sent without request is most appreciated! So thankful for the opportunity to do business! excellent business practices: Thankful Thursdays: Everyone has one!
- 05/09/12 11:05 PM
Thankful Thursdays: Everyone has one! I called multiple agents to get into homes in an adult active community located in St. George, Utah. One gentleman proceeded to tell me that I should never show more than 5 homes to buyers in a day. I can see his point if the properties are spread out all over the Washington County area but disagree when there are numerous home possibilities of all shapes, styles and sizes within a singular subdivision. And while I can appreciate his experience, I just have to confirm what my mom told me years ago... Everyone has an opinion

excellent business practices: It is better to be seen AND NOT HEARD!
- 03/29/12 11:12 PM
Remember the saying...It is better to be seen AND NOT HEARD? This quote was a big part of a southern upbringing and was enforced quite regularly. Adults said it to young children to let them know they were not part of the conversation. I grew up hesitent to voice an opinion and learned to stifle and did so even when I knew I should SPEAK UP! When I became an adult, I learned that you MUST BE HEARD in order to be effective. In this industry, part of being SEEN is indeed being HEARD. Constantly working to connect with past clients, as well as potential buyers and

excellent business practices: Thankful Thursdays: Focusing on what is before you.
- 02/16/12 01:15 AM
Thankful Thursdays: Focusing on what is before you. It is not okay for a semi-truck driver to be traveling down a major highway at 75 miles an hour while reading a book! I repeat, it is NOT OKAY! That 35,000 pound vehicle could suddenly veer into your lane, cut you off when passing... That type of behavior spells d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r! So, why do people allow themselves to become sidetracked like that? And texting while driving?! Don't even go there! You may be wondering what distracted driving has to do with real estate at this point...it has EVERYTHING to do with giving clients your utmost consideration when

excellent business practices: Dear Seller: Is your property being seen in the best light?
- 01/31/12 12:52 AM
Dear Seller: Is your property being seen in the best light? Part of the service a listing agent provides to their clients is taking good, quality photos that represent a property's best characteristics, touting the overall beauty of the home. So then why post cave-like images on the MLS that look like they were taken at night with the lights off? Keep in mind that most people looking to purchase will be doing on-line searches and pictures paint the true characteristics of a home. Granite counter-tops and upgraded flooring? Where? You can't boast it if you don't show it! Some photos are so dim that even

Never say no when a client asks for something, even if it is the moon. You can always try, and anyhow there is plenty of time afterwards to explain that it was not possible. ~Richard M. Nixon Keeping our clients goals in mind also as we continue reaching for our own is paramount to creating good, long lasting relationships. And if we fall short, we can at least say that we gave it our all.

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Size matters not, … Look at me. Judge me by size, do you? — Yoda They may be small in stature but can Get-It-Done just as well as their larger counterparts. It may take more steps and more energy but sure enough at the end of the day, they can rest assure that size did not play a part in a job left half done or less than standard. And besides, according to Yoda, size does not matter! Enjoy your Wednesday all!
