I'd Rather Gather in Nerdin Gardens
The back yard garden is a favorite place for us to visit. From the planted rows to soothing water features to the shade provided by the evergreens, it invites all to enjoy. That also includes our precious GBabies.
Peanut the Pup is our first GBaby girl.
While Kenslee blew her first bubbles, Peanut, the pup, popped them just as quick, which, in turn, caused raucous giggles, producing even more bubbles and laughter! This Gma's spirits soar on days like this!

Thankful to Gather with Those Who Matter
Family gatherings during the holidays has always been a priority. We are very traditional in our ways and are happy that our children recognize the importance of creating memorable moments for their little ones.
When the boys were growing up, we were up very early, a hearty breakfast was made, usually homemade waffles. We'd eat, chores were done and the kids left to play outside. Then we'd get busy baking and cooking.

This month's challenge sends me back in time to a few times when moments presented were outside the norm. These are mild compared to some salacious stories, ripe with drama, sex or downright deceit!

While out showing properties with a buyer couple, my car's odometer suddenly flipped from miles per hour to kilometers. Instead of driving approx. 45 mph, I panicked, thinking we were careening down the roadway at 70+ mph in a 50 mph zone!!! My brain finally registered that this was impossible!

Thanksgiving 2021: This Grateful Momma/Gma's Heart
Those who know me understand that Family First is my mantra. Being thankful holds many heartfelt things that make up the whole of being grateful. Absolutely nothing compares to unconditional love!
The pure affection for our two children has never wavered. I was hands-on when the boys were growing up. It was important to be present, remain in good communication, to teach and be open to learning.

It's Official! Firstday has Replaced Thursday.
While Face-timing Little Miss Independent aka Kenslee Mae, (our just turned) 4-year old Gbaby girl, I asked when she was going to make a visit to come to see me and Popop.
She replied, "On Firstday."
I asked, "On Thursday?"
She said, "No Gma, it's Firstday!"
Firstday it is and I am so happy that her cute family will be here soon to make some lasting memories. Popop is excited to hold Baby Kodah, her little brother for the first time.
Happy Monday all...I may start calling it Moneyday...what do you think?

Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?
Last year, Utah shut down for a couple of weeks. While other states were ulta-restrictive, Utah was open to visitors. State and national parks became the preferred playground for the masses.
Many out-of-area buyers cancelled due to the Wuhan flu. I continued to market and advertise, staying the course, as usual. Business increased due to a large influx of buyers.
Come spring, we went about getting the back yard garden tilled and planted, anticipating another successful growing season. We were later rewarded with an abundant harvest!

Thankfully, 2020 is so day before yesterday!
Time continues to march on despite any/all efforts to slow it. 2020 may be an exception for most. When recalling last year, numerous thoughts come to mind, so will put a positive spin on some situations.
Business ground to a halt with the announced shut down of the country. Being a get up and go type personality, it was difficult for me to stay home, abruptly changing directions.
I decided to go with it and...
- I slowly learned to be still, to appreciate simple things again.

It's a Rich Life for Me!
Some people are driven by financial means, or collecting sports memorabilia or classic cars to their hearts desires, others love to travel to fill that inner part of themselves.
For me, it is being present, enjoying time spent with those who matter in life and the sincere rewards that come from the love of family and friends. Nothing tops that!

Thankful for the bare necessities of life!
Growing up in a large family, there were a number of struggles, especially when my mother became single, trying to raise 6 children and then after a failed second marriage, 7 children.
Living in poverty in the 60's in Georgia was difficult. A childless, well to-do aunt and uncle, wanted to adopt my sister and I. My mother refused to give it a thought and resolutely said NO!
Hand me down clothes from Goodwill and government commodities to eat became the norm. We were dressed and had full bellies every day and thankfully, (1.) the love of our mother.
