getting up dressing up and showing up: They have to learn it and earn it. Durn it! - 04/24/19 08:45 AM
They have to learn it and earn it. Durn it!

Whose responsibility is it to ensure favorable outcomes for newbie agents, when 75% fail prior to their 2nd year? Success takes determination, self-motivation, self-sufficiency and self-reliance.

Parents who coddled their kids, enabling dependence on everyone else for everything, did them no favors. I refuse to take on a parenting role for adults who decline to help themselves in the workplace.

Besides, some have unrealistic expectations. They try to outsmart the industry by taking shortcuts and forgoing the work, lacking the necessary drive to consistently pursue opportunities as they present.

They are responsible for successes and failures. Not me. Not you!

Here are some reasons failure is imminent:

getting up dressing up and showing up: Will you MARCH this month? - 03/05/19 06:01 AM
Will you MARCH this month?

Left, left, left, right, left. Here we go into the last month in the first quarter of 2019. Did you know that March was named after Mars? I didn’t either until I looked it up. Mars is the icon for fiercely proud, patriotic and heroic qualities - that suits me.

Avoid skipping solid planning with a ‘come what may’ attitude, instead, keep in time and step up with intended marketing and advertising goals. My first quarterly mailing was a created the opportunity to be face-to-face with valued clients and will be meeting with a couple to look at houses next week.

getting up dressing up and showing up: Plan it true. Do the work. Your best gets. - 02/26/19 07:15 AM
Plan it true. Do the work. Your best gets.

The idea of success differs from person to person and may include a number of things that are most important. My focus is to avoid allowing others to determine desired outcomes with clients goals in mind.

Success is:
Paying close attention. Differentiating between what works and knowing when to let go of something that doesn't. Being surrounded by motivated people willing to share, to give that push when required.
Maintaining clear purpose. By that, it means focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses, solutions rather than problems. That is necessary for forward progress while building a better business.
Aiming to achieve. Retaining short term and long term goals and implementing them both … (7 comments)

getting up dressing up and showing up: 5 Ways to Have a FUNtastic FAB-YOU-ary! - 02/01/19 01:00 PM
5 Ways to Have a FUNtastic FAB-YOU-ary!

1. Get adequate rest and upon waking every morning, smile and stretch, it helps to set the tone for the day, adding health perks as well. Stretching naturally puts the body back in alignment and smiling is uplifting. Sufficient sleep improves concentration, productivity and performance. It also encourages problem-solving skills and enhances memory recall.

2. Be purposeful when planning the day by listing the most important tasks first. Take one line item at a time, finish and go on to the next one. It creates structure and proficiency so you are able to maneuver your way through the daily routine. Though you may not complete the list, you … (14 comments)

getting up dressing up and showing up: Will this be the best Jan-YOU-ary yet? - 01/20/19 10:39 AM
Will this be the best Jan-YOU-ary yet?

Most industry professionals plan ahead by implementing tools to gage success, focusing on desired results and pushing themselves to achieving the goals set forth. So far, I am on track this month.

Making phone calls, following up and though with past and present clients allows the pipeline to fill for future business. Continuing to get up, dress up and show up with purpose leads the way to success.

Look for insights from other professionals, engage tried-and-true methods, play to individual strengths, use them to produce your own accomplishments and this might be your best Jan-YOU-ary yet!

getting up dressing up and showing up: To do what is right. - 01/16/19 07:15 AM
The time is always right to do what is right. ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

From the time of waking every morning, my mind readies for what is ahead, preparing for what the day will bring. Knowing that family relies on follow-through and clients are dependent on a successful end result adds to the purpose of getting up, dressing up and showing up.

The time is always right to do what is right. Apply this to everyday life, be kind, generous of heart and if you see a need, fill it.

Seize the light!

Another vibrant, St. George sky-lit morning awakens those who seek the light, leaving others to slumber long after the show ends. As a witness to such a sight, I hear..."Get your light show now, it won't last! FREE to the public!"

You may ask, "What does this have to do with real estate?" A gorgeous wake up call sets the tone for a positive mindset. And we know what can happen when inspired to get yours now...!

getting up dressing up and showing up: Old MacDonald's work ethic still going strong! - 10/25/18 01:05 PM
Old MacDonald's work ethic still going strong!

Ever wonder what the E-I-E-I-O meant in the song about Old MacDonald and his farm? Well, here you go!
E - Every dawn to rise and shine
I - Inspired to do better, be better
E - Ethics that include hard work
I - Important chores first, then play
O - Out the door to get to work

The tested and true adage of waking before the crack of dawn, dressing up and getting to work remained a priority for this dedicated farmer. Each day meant achieving the goals set forth, no matter the time of year or type of weather presented.

Upping the Standard From Ordinary to Exemplary!

In any profession, there are those who put in 110% and then some who get by with minimal effort. Our daughter-in-law is proof that when you consistently embrace the challenge and move forward with confidence, the rewards are endless.

We are so very proud of our daughter Devyn and all that has been accomplished during her tour in the United States Navy. Not only has she received a Navy Achievement Medal but also made Junior Sailor of the Year for the Pacific Northwest.

She has exceeded her obligation and duties to the Navy and we are excited to see what … (7 comments)

getting up dressing up and showing up: Incredible opportunity begins where uncertainty ends. - 10/16/18 06:59 AM
Incredible opportunity begins where uncertainty ends.

For us humans, maintaining a strong work ethic daily with life's ups and down is pertinent to striking a balance in life. Overcoming feelings of inadequacy or fear are a must.

Desire and motivation play a role in successful habits. A strong work ethic matters in the Praying Mantis’ life. Instinctively, each day is taken to the highest potential without fail.

As we walked through Nerdin Gardens over the weekend, picking vegetables, there they were, on the ready! Which proves that the work has to be done to gain exceptional results.

getting up dressing up and showing up: Wind Up Doll Syndrome. Got it? - 06/11/18 07:01 AM
Wind Up Doll Syndrome. Got it?

Years ago, a wise man told me that a lot of women tend to be the caregivers, putting their needs aside in order to comfort and do for others, even when/if exhaustion sets in.

Many fail to realize the importance of self-care. Family emergencies, worry and sleepless nights while working through it, will take its toll. Can't take care of business if horizontal rather than vertical.

These things, if implemented can help:
Eat healthy: Make good choices, no junk foodExercise: Walk around a city block or a country mileGet adequate rest: A quick nap if possible does wonders
Learn to set limits as well. Take care of you first by un-winding dolly, setting yourself free of unrealistic … (8 comments)

A most luminous halo refracting misty morning rays. ~ Wanda Kubat-Nerdin

Early to rise ensures the majority of detail work is completed so the rest of the day can be used for prospecting new clients and following up as necessary. My dad used to say that the day is wasted if you rise after 10:00am.

Of course, he was a dedicated military man who had a stringent schedule that was followed day in, day out. The disciplined work ethic he carried of getting up, dressing up and showing up was also passed down to me.

So, here I go to make the most of this beautiful … (14 comments)

Keep that Fire Burning in 2018!

The power of positive thinking wakes with me every day in an effort to make a difference. Working through challenges comes resolve and moving quickly along is key to maintaining momentum in business.

Many seasoned agents possess industry passion that continues to burn. For newbies, it is never too late to light that fire and get it going for 2018!

Five Little Piggies - With a Twist!

This little piggy went to the office. A solid work ethic meant getting up, dressing up and showing up to get the days To-Do List completed. Always self-motivated, moving forward to successfully accomplish the clients set goals!    This little piggy liked to 'wing it' instead of planning ahead. Sleeping in and wearing pajama's at home all day, anticipating the phone to ring was the only commitment. It never rang so became the habit of asking to borrow money from the other piggies!      This little piggy had a remarkable marketing and advertising business plan. She was very successful, due to following up and through for business sake! She loved to cook, taking … (40 comments)

Surging ahead rather than getting flipped off!

Though the holiday season is nearing, the present is not the time to change the course or allow momentum to wane. Here are three things that can ensure a successful end of year:

Stay the course.
Getting up, dressing up and showing up daily is crucial in the sales industry. Guiding clients during the listing of their home or to achieve the goal of home ownership maintains trust. Be the local source that educates them about the area, community events, places to go and see, market trends and real estate driven information.
Achieve set goals.
Yearly real estate goals are a guideline to success that, if … (22 comments)

getting up dressing up and showing up: Success or failure is not an action. It is a HABIT! - 10/03/17 02:53 PM
Success or failure is not an action. It is a HABIT!

By definition, a habit is a regular tendency or practice, one that is especially hard to give up. People can habitually fail or succeed, many times in life. This may depend on patterns, routines, desire, motivators and work ethics.

 Good Habit
From the time I was old enough to join the work force, I never made excuses or called in sick even if I detested my job. Instead, I looked for new opportunities to be the best! Waking six days a week with clients in mind, motivates me to get up, dress up and show up to get the job done. Though Sunday is typically not a work day in … (12 comments)

getting up dressing up and showing up: Be SEEN - Be HEARD! - 03/30/17 03:28 PM
Be SEEN - Be HEARD!  In any sales industry, part of being SEEN is being HEARD. Connect with past clients and potential buyers and sellers by making phone calls, emailing or texting. Maintain a reputable online presence. Attend real estate related functions or volunteer for a special cause to be SEEN & HEARD by a broader audience and within the local community.   Good business habits:  -  Find a work model that sets you apart from the crowd

-  Ask for referrals from your most trusted past / present clients

-  Get up, dress up, show up ready to go to perform and get it done

getting up dressing up and showing up: Every morning you have two choices... - 03/25/17 06:56 AM
Every morning you have two choices...1. Sleep with your dreams -or- 2. Wake up and chase them. - Unknown

For me, meeting the day, rather than waiting for it, works.

Getting up, dressing up and showing up has been a reflex that still gains positive results. While most meet and greets are intentional, the possibilities are endless of who may be met by chance.

And who wants to miss an opportunity like that?!

getting up dressing up and showing up: America is not necessarily The Land of the FREE! - 09/05/16 12:26 AM
America is not necessarily The Land of the FREE!
Some people think of Labor Day holiday as just another long weekend to be enjoyed BBQing, fishing, camping or as the end of summer, a prelude to Fall. Those who paid attention in school understand that it goes way back and is a tribute to  the working class, both men and women.   According to the Department of Labor, Labor Day is national tribute to the American worker who made the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country a reality.    Which brings me to the point I will make about the title of this post. If you want to be successful, you … (10 comments)

He said - She said: It's Not MY fault!

Society continues to lay a weak foundation where it has become a practice to point fingers at others for a person's own lack of success, irresponsible spending habits or deficient motivation for earning a living.

Do you think it is acceptable to forgo personal accountability and responsibility by making excuses and playing the Blame Game? This person doesn't, at all!

Want to purchase a home but can't qualify for a mortgage? Speak with a professional, reputable lender on what to do to get moving in the right direction. Follow instructions implicitly and if you don't, pick up a mirror and look into it. Your fault!
