Every year, a spectacular athlete is chosen to inspire and speak to fellow participants during the Opening Ceremonies of the Huntsman World Senior Games. Not only is the athlete relevant but also tied to the spirit of competition with multiple successes, through sporting events.
This year's speaker was Anne Abernathy, a world-class, inspirational athlete, who at 68, is going strong, still competing. She has participated in 6 Olympic Games and is changing it up a bit from luge to archery. Anne shared the life lessons and principles learned through her incredible story.

What does the first day of fall mean in St. Gorgeous Utah?
Absolutely nada, not a thing, not anything, nil, zero, naught, zip, zilch diddly-squat! It's business as usual here in southern Utah. Flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing and Nerdin Gardens is still producing.
While other areas have snow covered hill tops, colder temperatures, plant life going dormant, the St. George, Utah area is still alive with abundant color in hardscapes, softscapes with moderate temperatures.
Remember, St. Gorgeous has palm trees and an outdoor recreational playground that continuously gains international attention. Many people come from all over the world to experience that firsthand.

Every 2nd and 4th Friday, the crowds converge with blankets and pillows to the St. George Townsquare to watch a movie on the big screen, be entertained by local talent and eat food supplied by vendors.
