implementing consistent methods: Nerdin Gardens: Size Isn't Always Important - 09/23/23 01:26 PM
Nerdin Gardens: Size Isn't Always Important Bountiful harvests are the result of cultivating, tilling and careful planting that goes into the garden at the start of the spring season in Nerdin Gardens. Though growth has slowed, we are still pulling fresh fruits and vegetables almost every day. So far, we have picked zucchini, crook neck squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, basil, oregano, thyme, onion chives, garlic, sage, jalapeño peppers, bell peppers, red peppers, strawberries, asparagus, green beans and snow peas and more. Production was enough to can a couple hundred jars of pure deliciousness, from sweet chili sauce (my mother-in-law’s recipe), zucchini relish, jams galore (peach jalapeño, … (18 comments)

Nerdin Gardens: It's a grape day!

Taking advantage of ripe grapevines in the back yard garden, means picking them before the birds and other creatures get more than a fair share. The kitchen countertops are overflowing with nature's candy!

Grapes are found in clusters of 15 to 300 and can be:
crimson black dark blue yellow green orange and pink
We grow green, seedless grapes and Muscadines from Georgia, that are deep purple, round, with two seeds and a sour skin.

Grapes are in the berry family and can be eaten fresh, used in wine-making, in jam's, grape juices, jellies, grape seed extracts, vinegars … (17 comments)

Nerdin Gardens: Gardening with Grandpa

As children, our grandpa insisted we help him in the family garden. We all excitedly agreed. I realized pretty quick the difference between a potato plant and a weed. He was a steadfast but patient teacher.

Row upon row of raised mounds and plantings, the trenches ran alongside. He would open the irrigation gate and water rushed quickly from starting to finish point, giving the earth a proper dousing.

Knowing when to plant, how to thin the plants to prevent crowding for proper growth, the right amount of  water that was necessary and also the exact time to pick for … (24 comments)

Nerdin Gardens 2020: Teeming with Productivity

As tenured, back yard gardeners, we gladly take on the responsibilities of ensuring all processes and systems are in place for success. Tilling, enriching the soil with nutrients that will last the season long plus placement, matters.

Every year comes with a set of challenges like weed control, adequate pollination and weather conditions. Taking the natural approach regarding harmful pests rather than using questionable, harmful chemicals is best.

The results are most amazing and fruitful. Plant material is healthy, producing at a steady rate from garden bed to table top. Fresh is best with zucchini, crook neck squash, peppers to several varieties of tomatoes.

Realtors: Ready to BOAT?

Many newbies fail due to improper financial planning, jumping right in after passing the real estate test, thinking of easy money made with only a few hours work. Getting caught up in the fantasy of immediate success, they are sorely disappointed after realizing it takes both time -and- money.

For those just starting out, putting away enough money for expenses is crucial to implement systems, including maintaining a professional web site, email address and contact management system, internet bills, office space, supplies plus computer and hardware/software.

Real estate broker fees need to be figured in, cell phone, marketing and advertising, not to mention education fees, client meetings and lunches, and closing … (38 comments)

Nerdin Gardens: 2♡2♡ is Not Hindsight Looking Forward!

We are beginning to see the results of all the cultivating, tilling and careful planting that has carefully been implemented. So far we have picked a few strawberries, the pumpkins and watermelon seedlings are sprouting.

The tomatoes and peppers are heavily laden with blooms awaiting pollination from our friendly honey and bumble bees. The pole beans are climbing the trellis and the grapes and muscadine vines are branching out.

Soon, we will be rewarded by our hindsight - as we look forward to harvesting in Nerdin Gardens 2♡2♡. Thankful every day as we watch our garden grow. The best to you all from … (8 comments)

The lesson remains the same today. Doing the work is essential to achieving good results, therefore, setting the tone for success. Being humble enough to ask for help when needed, adds dimension.

implementing consistent methods: Enjoying today's harvest due to yesterday's plantings. ~ Nerdin Gardens - 08/07/16 11:49 PM
Enjoying today's harvest due yesterday's plantings.  ~ Nerdin Gardens

Successful gardening takes proper planning and implementing reliable systems. Paying attention to minute details ensures proper growth and productive abundance. The same is true in business.

Minimal effort put forth with unrealistic expectations will produce a small return.  Planting seeds with care, nurturing the tender plants, weeding, watering and feeding them allows healthy expansion.

Consistent methods create a thriving environment. While we are unable to control the weather, we are able to get up, show up to work every day. Nature provides valuable lessons that can also be used in business.

You harvest what you sow in life. Happy gardening and happy sales all!

Nerdin Gardens: Growing it like nobody's business!

As our home garden's seasonal production concludes for the year, there is much still to be learned on improving standards. Listed are 5 things that come to mind that will be implemented, once again come Spring.

1. Preparation before planting. Nature provides a vast means of utilizing best processes and procedures for becoming successful gardeners.

2. Nurturing daily. Tending dutifully will prevent death or an over abundant workload to eradicate weeds and pests that move in.

3. Using constant care. Knowing that consistent methods such as watering, fertilizing and pruning produce more desirable results.

4. Following through on intentions. Nature will come through most spectacularly when basic needs are met. Getting up … (8 comments)
