Seems every online news outlet these days tout, so-called, national real estate experts, pushing numbers, taking polls, predicting future outcomes. Some even use fear tactics to spread disinformation!
Unfortunately for them, they lack the ability to determine the true number of sales and statistics at a local level. This is where professionals in their own communities have a clear advantage over inaccuracy.
Interest rates are a big concern for buyers who were qualified before the last percentage increase. Many will wait until they decrease. Cash buyers are not concerned one bit, it does not apply (23 comments)
For the third time this year as predicted, interest rates have risen, this one 2% to 2.25% as the the Feds try to hinder the progress of inflation, the eighth such rate hike since 2015. Job growth continues as 50% of homebuyers in the second quarter of 2018 were first time homebuyers while unemployment is the lowest since 2000.
Rate increases like this can adversely affect potential homebuyers actively searching out a home to buy, pushing them out of their current price or in a positive direction, may get some off the fence before the next increase.
As prices continue to climb, many home buyers might be priced out of the market if they are waiting for:
Lower interest rates
Better lender terms
More inventory to choose from
The next presidential election results
A rich relative to pass to leave them money
Whatever the excuse, the opportunity will again pass them by and someone elses dream of home ownership will be fulfilled! For those who are seriously looking in the southern Utah area, please contact me. Glad to help!

interest rates: Shop + Compare + Negotiate = Money saved!

Shop + Compare + Negotiate = Money saved! I was asked, "Which lender should I choose?" I answered, "The one that best suits your needs." I am able to recommend several lenders that I have worked with but the choice is 100% up to the client. In today's competitive market, finding one that suits the particular needs of a home buyer is a matter of shopping and comparing. Some lenders may offer: Paid closing costs Free home appraisal No loan origination fees Competitive interest rate Quick underwriting And if there is one that proposes some or all of this...it's worth considering, saving you quite a bit of money (10 comments)
