past clients matter in business: MYOB: Mine Your Own Business! - 12/05/23 09:25 AM
MYOB: Mine Your Own Business! Successful agents seem to have endless supply of clients coming, going, buying and selling all though the year. Ever wonder about their business strategies? Some pay a hefty fee for consumer leads, some are brokerage to brokerage-only referrals and some depend on their trusted network of past clients.
The best marketing of all is happy clients. ~ Susan Stripling
Happy clients are more likely return for future real estate needs. They often act as business promoters by referring their family members and friends to their favorite agent. This type of advocacy can be a gold mine! Which is why … (14 comments)

past clients matter in business: Letting Go With a Sense of Humor and Grace - 12/04/23 09:03 AM
Letting Go With a Sense of Humor and Grace Real estate can be a tipsy-turvy roller-coaster ride at times. Checking the ego at the door, without taking many things personal and being the voice of reason during chaotic times is required, otherwise, a quick, industry exit is immanent. Granted, my real education started -after- acquiring a license to practice. As a professional, remaining in touch with past clients has been my business model from the start.  My previous career in advertising and marketing taught the importance of soft touch with those who appreciated the process and would come back for repeat services. past clients matter in business: So Lucky You're My Friend! - 06/20/23 09:53 AM
So Lucky You're My Friend!

Yesterday, I dropped off some zucchini from Nerdin Gardens for some past clients. Before I left, she said, "I have something for you." She gave me an envelope with a card inside, that expressed how much I have meant to them through the years, that they both consider me their friend.

I feel the same! 💝

Small gestures and remaining in contact can mean can so much to the people in your life and often leads to true friendship. Am blessed beyond boundaries to know this wonderful, high spirited couple.

past clients matter in business: Go Home With Who Brought You - 10/25/22 01:39 PM
Go Home With Who Brought You

A friend and past client, in a conversation when catching up today, relayed this tidbit to me: Go Home With Who Brought You, which means to remain loyal to someone who is supportive, attentive and/or helpful. This was the first time hearing that phrase but it makes so much sense!

Repeat business comes from past clients who appreciated the service provided when searching for properties that met the criteria, negotiating terms and conditions, under contract status, then successfully closing and recording. Sometimes, however, they need a reminder.

These things have helped my business in this industry:

past clients matter in business: Some Things Should Remain in the Privacy of the Mind - 06/09/22 07:27 AM
Some Things Should Remain in the Privacy of the Mind

Some personalities enjoy verbally purging anywhere, not caring who is within hearing distance of their diatribes. There might be a place and time for that but never in close vicinity of clients.

These types of people attempt to make a connection with an audience that relates to their woes. similar to trauma-bonding. They try to look more like a victim and less like an overly emotional wreck.

That behavior may come back to bite! A difficult transaction is a time to step back in retrospect and discover what could be made different, next time, so processes … (22 comments)

past clients matter in business: And then she said, "You can't rely on past clients for new business." - 07/18/21 09:50 AM
And then she said, "You can't rely on past clients for new business."
If that was true, there would be no long-standing work models, companies or industries. Repeat customers ensure continued success. Retention is also key when marketing to people from prior dealings.
Re-occurring business opportunities come from very satisfied clients who understand the process and appreciate sincere, competent representation throughout the real estate process.
Many of my colleagues fail to market or follow up at all with past clients. Not sure why. There is a veritable goldmine of steadfast relationships and future business when consumers feel you truly care.
