personal and professional relationships: To do what is right. - 01/16/19 07:15 AM
The time is always right to do what is right. ~ Martin Luther King Jr.

From the time of waking every morning, my mind readies for what is ahead, preparing for what the day will bring. Knowing that family relies on follow-through and clients are dependent on a successful end result adds to the purpose of getting up, dressing up and showing up.

The time is always right to do what is right. Apply this to everyday life, be kind, generous of heart and if you see a need, fill it.

personal and professional relationships: Just a drift away. - 03/25/18 05:49 PM
Just a drift away.

Lulls between business dealings allows time to regroup before continuing forward. Everyone must take time for themselves. Family or other sincere commitments tend to create some sense of balance in life.

Continue to grind, chipping away at that work-wheel and you may experience industry burn-out or illness. Drift too long though and you may head toward uncharted territory, allowing future business to slip away.

Keep the passion for your work but never put it in front of your family, scheduled events or personal needs, you may eventually become adrift with no one along for the ride. Definitely not what I am working for.

Are you?

personal and professional relationships: Successful relationships just happen! - 12/21/17 07:17 AM
Successful relationships just happen!

Do you believe that? I sure do. Being genuine plays a large part when first meeting someone and can create a lasting impression. No prior planning required when the attraction is mutual.

From my experience, these 3 things are necessary:

TRUST is essential in any relationship, though it may not be immediate, time can build a solid foundation between parties.
RESPECT means acknowledging set boundaries while confidently appreciating the contributions put forth by each.
HONEST INTENTIONS become clear when a sincere commitment shows itself through fulfilled expectations and follow through.
Tried and true methods lead to gaining trust in both personal or professional relationships. Even Peanut and Kenslee Mae prove that mutual respect … (12 comments)

personal and professional relationships: Day 9 of 10 Thanksgiving Challenge | Honesty - 11/21/16 11:57 PM
Day 9 of 10 Thanksgiving Challenge | Honesty

There are many aspects about HONESTY that ring true and relate to every day living. The success of every relationship depends on integrity. When shopping for a new dress with a friend, I'd want that person to relay candidly whether it looked good or not.

HONESTY can be tough to take at times, even jarring. I'd rather hear the truth than be in denial, especially when facing challenging situations. Truth in business between parties is expected. Some people fall short, while others remain genuine when following through.

Much of what is passing as news today is not truth. We are living in the National Enquirer era of news reporting. As consumers, we … (1 comments)

personal and professional relationships: Making a true connection! - 05/05/16 12:14 AM
Making a true connection!

Being genuine helps to cultivate long lasting personal and professional relationships. It also means paying close attention to what really matters while building a rapport. Avoid rushing the process, anything worthwhile takes time to cultivate.

Using care when interacting will grab the attention of those intended. Sharing information about common interests can also help find out what matters to them and can determine the direction of the relationship. Avoid over-thinking, be natural.

And when it happens, Wow!, what an uplifting experience!

personal and professional relationships: Is this really goodbye? - 04/28/15 11:12 PM
Is this really goodbye?

Fingertip anxiously poised over the delete button, anticipating what inevitably will take place in mere seconds. A final decision has been made regarding our relationship. This is farewell, though I've repeatedly been tempted to come back and take advantage of your SPECIAL offerings.

So long online warehouse store, chock-full to overflowing with amazing goods at low, low prices. I appreciate shopping at my leisure, not when you constantly bombard my email with tantalizing messages like:
BUY NOW! SHOP NOW! 15% OFF JUST FOR YOU! ONE TIME ONLY SALE!
I purchase items that are necessary when needed, not allowing apparent sensationalism to overcome common sense. You'll continue to attract other online shoppers who are mesmerized with … (24 comments)

personal and professional relationships: Living an intentional life. - 01/26/15 12:58 AM
Living an intentional life.

Everyone's idea of intentional living differs and may include; faith, finances, values, lifestyle, ethics, personal transformation and beliefs.

For me, it would be:

Finding a purpose. Focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses. They are the necessary foundation on building a better self. Avoid allowing others to determine the desired outcome.
Pursuing a plan. Maintaining short term and long term goals and implementing them both personally and professionally. Consistently feeding both areas in an effort to strike some semblance of balanced living.
Paying attention. Differentiating what works and knowing when to let go of something that doesn't. Being immersed with motivated, positive … (9 comments)

personal and professional relationships: Puzzled about how to proceed? - 09/28/14 01:20 AM
Puzzled about how to proceed?
No internet service, satellite TV, nor video games leaves my husband and I wondering what to do during our remodel. An old-fashioned jigsaw puzzle will do the trick to pass the time together. There is much to learn about each other once all other distractions are removed. A quiet conversation can be very revealing when both parties have no distractions to pull them away from the here and now.

What does this have to do with business and clients, you might be wondering?

The people front and center deserve your undivided attention when they are present.

personal and professional relationships: Sincerity: A mile wide approach. - 08/29/14 03:45 AM
Sincerity: A mile wide approach.

Sensing that someone may be pretentious or lack genuineness shows in the way of first impressions when meeting and greeting. Smiling through clenched teeth during introductions ensures that a person's trustworthiness will be questioned.

Why in the world would anyone in business aspire to that? Perhaps the delivery could use a different approach but this is definitely not a case of fake it 'till you feel it. Sincerity or the lack of can be felt within a mile wide radius by those on the receiving end.

Sometimes it's what is not being said in words that prevents second chances in … (11 comments)
