Weathering Through Man-made Squallers

Inclement weather is a part of life in all corners of the world. People in high-risk areas prepare for the worst by using the best, tried and true methods in preventing undue harm to their loved ones or properties.

Nothing can prepare for the man-made storms that are heaped upon us, though, especially those designed to incite. As industry professionals, we become the voice of reason when emotions run at high velocity.

Verbal outbursts, while mediating come from the desire to control. Angry tirades are best quashed immediately or dealt with from a distance rather than right-in-your-face. This type of … (20 comments)

remaining calm through adversity: Awakening a Resilient Mindset - 09/23/23 09:14 AM
Awakening a Resilient Mindset Azure skies abound. Clouds amass. Sun rays defend sudden, unforeseen turbulence. An all-encompassing storm swiftly takes a hard hold without invite, grasping, slashing, leaving in its wake, confusion, mayhem. Experiencing disappointment often presents an opportunity to grow, through adversarial situations, awakening a resilient mindset. Sincere intentions still reside in the outcome, fully aware that the future may hold promise. The nature of the real estate industry can be chaotic at best, emotions getting in the way of buyers and sellers when the desired result becomes unattainable. Time is necessary in creating a new path, for a new plan. Gaze upon the horizon. Here comes … (35 comments)

What can $15,000 buy in 2022?

In today's market, consumers can still get a bang for the buck, despite rising interest rates, exorbitant gas costs at the pump and inflation at a 40 year high. Moving forward confidently with $15,000 may mean:

Purchasing a pretend house in the metaverse  Using cryptocurrency to buy a small, virtual island Securing a spot at the 2022 United States Poker Open event Buying the secret taco marinade recipe from the Villegas family Giving a home to 3 Bengal cats, half leopard/half house cat, at $5,000@ Becoming serial vacationers, going on theme cruises to other countries

remaining calm through adversity: Even Experienced Bee Keepers Get Stung! - 03/29/21 10:00 AM
Even Experienced Bee Keepers Get Stung!

There is a high level of trust between bee keeper and hive to create harmonious living conditions. Education and research goes a long way toward nurturing this unique partnership.

For overall safety and the success of the hive:
Dress appropriately when near hive. Use proper equipment plus wear protective clothing designed to cover all body parts. Check for holes or flaws often.
Place the hive in a low traffic area. Bee's prefer to remain distant and are not exactly social creatures. They have a strong work ethic, goal oriented and focused.
Avoid swatting at bee's to avoid aggression. A hive will take … (24 comments)

remaining calm through adversity: Stormy skies, turbulent times. - 04/06/20 09:42 AM
Stormy skies, turbulent times.

Feel like lashing out due to this latest storm? Instead, batten down, cast aside disparate feelings and irrational thought processes by drawing strength from past hardships. Deflect the dark, allowing in the light.

Head up, mind up, eyes up help to alleviate the unknowns that bring fear. Avoid blatant scapegoat-ism as you would not want that same vile hatred projected back on you. Hold tight until everything rights itself.

Will you remain dear to those who showed up en masse before the cacaphony or alienate one and all by callously disregarding their prior acts of kindness? Damages will be adequately assessed once the squall passes.

Rage is akin to a swollen, overburdened river, uprooting everything in it's path, recklessly grasping, pulling all in, 'til no longer fed by fury.  ~Wanda … (22 comments)

Keep Your Coo-Coo in the Clock!

Right now, there is a disjointed, disordered craziness going on in the world. Avoid participating in the highly charged, emotional traps set by opportunists. Instead, remain level-headed for your own mental health.

The following are some things to do daily:
Phone family, friends & clients Put thoughts to words in a journal Paint a picture or illustrate or just doodle Crank up your favorite music and dance Focus on the positive aspects of life Go for a brisk nature walk in the fresh air Mail some Thinking of You or Thank You notes
Do what feels meaningful. Stay positive and spend virtual time with healthy, positive people. Turn off the computer or the television to … (38 comments)

remaining calm through adversity: In your face! - 09/19/19 08:48 AM
In your face!

When the intention is sincere or welcomed, boundaries are relaxed but an exception when someone wants to confront or create a snarky environment up close and personal. Putting a little distance between conflict, matters.

Recently, I met with a homeowner wishing to sell. He undeniably thought his home was worth much, much more than all others in the same community. He became testy, demanding list price right then and there!

The numbers were presented. He refused to accept the current comparable sales analysis as reliable data. I told him the market would not bear his price. We discussed views, the private back yard and sales strategies.

I finally discovered the reasoning behind the bristling … (9 comments)
