self motivation: Plan it true. Do the work. Your best gets. - 02/26/19 07:15 AM
Plan it true. Do the work. Your best gets.

The idea of success differs from person to person and may include a number of things that are most important. My focus is to avoid allowing others to determine desired outcomes with clients goals in mind.

Success is:
Paying close attention. Differentiating between what works and knowing when to let go of something that doesn't. Being surrounded by motivated people willing to share, to give that push when required.
Maintaining clear purpose. By that, it means focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses, solutions rather than problems. That is necessary for forward progress while building a better business.
Aiming to achieve. Retaining short term and long term goals and implementing them both … (7 comments)

self motivation: What gets you going? - 05/18/17 04:28 PM
What gets you going?

Motivation continues to get me up to dress up and show up. Never wavering from set responsibilities, except when absolutely necessary. Exceptional service to others is what I wish to be remembered for.

Honoring commitments have become a reflex and continues to keep me grounded. Never chasing the money but have been known to chase rainbows in search of the ever-elusive pot of gold.

This saying is on my office wall where it is very visible and is a daily guide. Everything in the past has led back to this and it's been an amazing journey. What gets you going?

self motivation: 7 Things that Can Push Business Forward. - 06/24/16 08:23 AM
7 Things that Can Push Business Forward.

Attaining success within a chosen field is definitely a singular experience. The following list contains some things that have helped during my working career and I wanted to share them with all of you.

1. Showing up on time. Do whatever it takes to maintain dependability and create trust relationships with your clients to motivate your business forward. It takes true effort on your part.

2. A Strong Work Ethic - Value all commitments and follow up and follow through. When you are unable to make an appointment, call and cancel, then reschedule. People can see right through insincerity.

3. Honesty in all things - Put the clients needs first, answer … (8 comments)

self motivation: Be Accountable. Pack your own chute. - 09/02/14 12:55 AM
Be Accountable. Pack your own chute.

Seasoned paratroopers intimately know the inherent risks of doing a job right the first time. A parachute packed correctly means a person will continue to carry on and make future plans. Packed hastily or carelessly and uh-well, you know the outcome.

Here are 5 tips based on my past experience that can keep you landing safely in business.

Develop a Business Plan. Include short-term as well as long-term goals.  No reason for it to be extraordinary or overly sophisticated. It’s as simple as writing down 2 listings and 2 closings per month.

Keep it Simple. Do not over-complicate processes and procedures by adding a multitude of duties and responsibilities. … (47 comments)

self motivation: It's Monday?! Oh no! - 05/12/13 10:48 PM
It's Monday?! Oh no!

The work week has arrived and time to be motivated and get along now. Deadlines are straight ahead and paperwork needs tending to at the office so rather than sitting here and thinking about it, there I go just like the little doggies. More done today, less to worry about tomorrow!

Happy Day all!

self motivation: Lessons learned from Pegleg! - 03/27/13 12:07 AM
Lessons learned from Pegleg! When I was a young girl, I had a hamster that was missing a leg, I thought it was only appropriate to name him Pegleg.

Several times a day, Pegleg would get going on that exercise wheel, faster and faster he'd go-he'd be humming along and all of a sudden he would miss with that little stub, and go tumbling head-over-tail-over-head-over-tail until finally he'd stop, out of breath.

Then he'd get back up and do it again, always with the same results! Despite the setback due to the missing leg, he did not let that get in the way of his goal … (16 comments)

Motivational Monday: Onward and Upward with purpose I go!

Moving Onward and Upward with purpose is what I do even when it gets tough! And believe me, it has been a most difficult road at times. When 3 transactions fall out in the same day, you must have enough tenacity and perseverance to make those phone calls and actively market them to other agents and the public to get them SOLD!

Failing is not an option when:
Your family depends on the income to maintain a healthy household Clients counts on you to get to the end of the transaction with a successful outcomeThe brokerage … (24 comments)

self motivation: "Sorry we cheated on you, but we refuse to marry you!" - 01/15/11 06:35 AM

"Sorry we cheated on you, but we refuse to marry you!"
That is what a potential buyer told me after I received paperwork with another buyer agent's name on it. All his wife could say was oops after discussing it with her. Quite honestly I did not wish to marry them either but deserved to be respected!
I was:
Available to them, especially weekends Knowledgeable regarding the local market area Extremely diligent in searching for homes that fit their criteria They also wanted to forego a signed buyer agreement, saying they wished to keep their options open. That is their choice. I refuse to run my business … (91 comments)

Motivational Monday: My Inner Cheerleader
Are you self-motivated?
I am, with help.
What helps you to get up, dress up and show up?
For me, it's my Inner Cheerleader.
She tells me that great things will happen...
if I get up that I will look fantastic if I dress up   and if I show up, I may just meet someone who could make a difference in my life And you know what? She's right!
But she is also much more than that, she is the one who claps her virtual hands in honor of me and air pats me on the back … (27 comments)
