service to others: Taking customer service to a higher level for clients. - 11/29/17 11:25 AM
Taking customer service to a higher level for clients.

When showing appreciation to clients, my work standard has always been one of service before, during and after the sale (please excuse the cliche′ but it is honest). I refuse to be a one -and- done type agent.

Another reason my phone still rings.

Just today, past clients called to tell me that they appreciate the quality of life they are experiencing in their southern Utah neighborhood and how thankful they are to me for their perfect home.

That made my day!

Quarterly mailings that speak of the important role that past clients play in keeping me in business are sent out. The cards are specially … (15 comments)

service to others: A Volunteer Heart. - 08/31/17 12:26 PM
A Volunteer Heart.

From a very young age, there was a sense of satisfaction when doing for others and as I became an adult, it became more of a reflex. From Special Olympics to bowling and playing softball with people with disabilities, the innate sense of belonging and making a difference propelled me to continue those efforts.

When my two children were born and old enough, they were required to go along with me when volunteering in the snack bar of the rodeo or handing out water to runners in a local race. They learned quickly that not everything done is tied to making money, that when a … (6 comments)

service to others: What gets you going? - 05/18/17 04:28 PM
What gets you going?

Motivation continues to get me up to dress up and show up. Never wavering from set responsibilities, except when absolutely necessary. Exceptional service to others is what I wish to be remembered for.

Honoring commitments have become a reflex and continues to keep me grounded. Never chasing the money but have been known to chase rainbows in search of the ever-elusive pot of gold.

This saying is on my office wall where it is very visible and is a daily guide. Everything in the past has led back to this and it's been an amazing journey. What gets you going?

service to others: What drives YOU to do for others? - 04/09/17 08:11 AM
What drives YOU to do for others?

The feel-good aspect? Seeing joy in people’s faces? Knowing you will make a difference?
Those are all great reasons and why, every year, one of my son's would dress up as the Easter Bunny and help deliver candy-filled eggs to people in rehab care facilities. They are unable to get up and go like us, so we go to them!

For a few minutes, they are happily interrupted by a 7-foot Easter Bunny bearing colorful Easter eggs with a wave, hug or a handshake! One lady wanted to keep him! We hand out at least 100 candy … (5 comments)

service to others: THANK YOU ALL! - 11/11/15 12:06 AM
THANK YOU ALL!

To the men and women who sacrificed their all in the name of their country when others dared not, THANK YOU ALL!  You are true heroes who deserve far more recognition than you have received! You will always be remembered in the hearts of the people who knew and still love you! Rest in Peace.

If given the opportunity, shake the hand of a military person and say THANKS any day of the year! It feels good, just try it and you'll see!

Eat a salad Grumpypants.

A good friend once told me about an acronym called H.A.L.T. He said people that are cranky and out of sorts may be...

HUNGRY or ANGRY or LONELY or TIRED.

People who are irritated, negative or complain about everything while sucking the joy from everyone within a ten block radius, may simply need to take the following advice. Otherwise, life may get very lonely.

HUNGRY? - Eat a salad!
 or
ANGRY? - Find a calming resolution.
 or
LONELY? - Get out and about.
 or
TIRED? - Rest the mind and body.

The holidays often bring out the best in people, while, for some it can be a very solitary time. Family members passing on or divorce and poor health adversely affects moving forward or reaching out.

service to others: What flips your ON switch? - 11/15/12 10:06 PM
What flips your ON switch?

Is it...The power you hold to make a difference?
You are more than halfway there when you get up, dress up and show up. Clients depend on you to help guide them during the listing of their home or to achieve the goal of home ownership. You are the local source that educates them about the area, community events, places to go and see, market trends and real estate driven information.
Or...Surging ahead to achieving the goals set forth?
Yearly real estate goals are a guideline to success that, if implemented every day are … (12 comments)

service to others: You will be remembered for your service to others! - 10/27/12 09:19 AM
You will be remembered for your service to others!
A note from our son Sebastian who recently graduated from Navy basic training and is currently at school in Florida...
So as my friends and I were walking out of the fair I saw an old feller with a cane that looked like Santa Claus and I couldn't help to see that he had a hard time walking. Also he had to tow a dolly with a heavy bag that was slowing him down more than anything....I don't know what it was but I just had to help this man.
I … (18 comments)

service to others: Thankful Thursdays: Call when you need help, That's why I’m here! - 07/07/11 02:07 AM

Thankful Thursdays: Call when you need help, That's why I’m here!
This past weekend, some clients came to stay in their second home for the long weekend and walked in to find a horrible smell emanating from the duct system. I received a call for help regarding a heating and cooling specialist in the area.
She apologized for calling on a holiday weekend and I told her that if she ever needed help while here to call, that is why I’m here. I gave her the name and number of a qualified person, she thanked me and was able to get … (15 comments)

Motivational Mondays: Is "Service to others" important to you?

Have you heard the saying that "A person will be remembered for their service to others?" Do you believe it? Quite honestly, I do. That is one reason to get involved in community events and why I am a proud member of the St. George area Chamber of Commerce Dixie Sunshiners.
We are a community oriented group that welcomes new businesses into the area by attending ribbon cuttings, open houses, also participating in parades, volunteering for local events throughout the year and taking part in the weekly Chamber luncheons. We average between 3 - 5 events per … (16 comments)
