speechless sunday almost: When there is doubt... - 06/07/14 03:21 AM
When there is doubt...
As individuals, we are all free to give opinions, speak our minds and share our experiences, which we often do. If it comes to verbal purging when rankled or pushed into a corner, it is always best to stop and think before proceeding forward. We have all been tested time and again, whether personally or in professional situations.
Still learning this valuable lesson one instance at a time.
Happy Sunday all!

speechless sunday almost: Just desserts! - 02/09/14 12:51 AM
Just desserts!

There are some days when it just makes sense to eat dessert first rather than saving it for after a meal, right? Of course, this cheesecake was so pretty, I hesitated digging in but soon found my rhythm and ate it all up, carmel-chocolate-strawberry sauce and all!
Happy Sunday and I hope you get your 'just desserts' too!

speechless sunday almost: Give it a chance. - 08/04/13 02:36 AM
Give it a chance.

After dining at Sakura Japanese Steakhouse Restaurant in St. George, Utah, we noticed a simple Japanese mural painted on the wall and just figured it translated to the name of the restaurant or had something to do with food. The intricate symbols and swashes are all quite beautiful, no matter their meaning.
As the waiter came back to the table, my husband asked about its origin and she told us it meant Peace.
Peace? Ok, we'll give that a chance.
Happy Sunday all!

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): Race day, every day! - 03/03/13 02:34 AM
Speechless Sunday (almost!): Race day, every day!

Will Kyle Busch take 1st place today after his win yesterday in Arizona? Some say he had to drop down in order to win but in my opinion, a WIN is a WIN! Every single driver on the track had an equal opportunity to cross the finish line first.
It is the same in our industry, you only get one shot to make a good first impression with potential clients, no do-overs. And no second chances there!
Here we go people, start your engines! Vrooom! Vroom!
Happy Sunday to you all!

Fishing or Football? What would YOU DO?

After contemplating whether to watch the first regular season game opener...Broncos vs Steelers or go fishing, my husband and I decided to record the game and GO FISHING! This may be our last opportunity of the season to sit on the lake and catch our limit!

Ok, so we catch our limit, then do we fry, bake or smoke the trout? Decisions, decisions...to be continued. Enjoy your Sunday, we are hoping for a sunny day on Panguitch Lake!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Red Delight, night all!

Cloudy, stormy or smoky skies create opportunities to capture a moment for all time. And though I've heard a camera is unable to truly portray what the human eye sees, I am honestly delighted with the results of this sunset!
How often have you seen the sun as vibrant a color when day turns to night? This is a first for me.
Happy Sunday, it is looking promising!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Come on in, the water's fine!

If you're a duck, that is!
Southern Utah temperatures have been hovering in the 70s as Spring begins to show itself.  It's refreshing and lends promise to another season as the fruit trees are blooming in anticipation of the honey bee's visits to each flower, one to the other to the other...while the ducks have taken to water once again to frollick, feed or just enjoy the moment.
They sure know how to get the most out of southern Utah living!
Happy Sunday to you all!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Duck...duck...

Day dreamer with eyes turned toward the southern Utah sky, I am reminded of a childhood game that we played in elementary school. Everyone sat in a circle with their legs crossed and one person would get up and begin with saying
DUCK
while tapping someone's head...then
DUCK
again while walking around...and then say
GOOSE!
The person chosen at that point would be chased...while continuing around the circle, trying to sit down in the open spot before getting tagged and the game continues on!
Do you remember?

Speechless Sunday (almost!): All aboard!

Neither a wise man nor a brave man lies down on the tracks of history to wait for the train of the future to run over him.  ~ Dwight D. Eisenhower
Mr. Eisenhower was indeed a smart man who knew that time waits for no one and that success depends on taking a proactive stance regarding knowledge and know-how. There is no turning back when it comes to today's technological standards.
So learn it, durn it or you'll be left behind!
Have a fantastic Sunday!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Bliss.

What's yours? You know the feeling, that all-encompassing giddiness you experience when all is right in the world? It could simply be a:
Kiss on the cheek Partner's touch Child's laughter Breathtaking sunrise Vibrant sunset Bliss is as personal and individual as our own fingerprints, definitely not a one-thing-fits-all scenario. My bliss comes from knowing that I have a family who cares and appreciates me no matter what the workday brings and in turn continues to motivate me forward towards success. LOVE is enough for me!
Happy Sunday to you all!

At every turn, day or night, dusk, dawn, clear to cloudy skies, traveling to or fro, in the distance, up close, any and all seasons, encore and imprompt, desertscape to mountain range, ground to air, around the corner, down the road, along a path, niche, ditch...

Here, there and YES! BEAUTY EVERYWHERE!

Happy Sunday to you all.

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): Nature's Highlights - 11/14/10 07:29 AM
Speechless Sunday (almost!): Nature's Highlights

Part of what makes southern Utah spectacular are the red rock formations that surround our area! While driving home from work, I noticed one part of the valley was overcast, roiling clouds threatening to spill themselves at any moment. I then looked at the brilliant, blue sky to the other side and witnessed how the vivid light played off the red rocks.
People love it here because of nature's beauty at every turn, can you blame them?! Happy Sunday to you all!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Mobile canine unit!

As I passed by on the way home. I had to turn around - twice - in order to get in position to take this shot! The owner of this dog had his thinking cap on while designing this mobile canine unit complete with igloo dog house, food and water dish and a nice, soft blanket...All the comforts of home for the dog on-the-go!
And he parked underneath a huge shade tree near a fire hydrant too (bottom right of photo), very thoughtful indeed! Happy Sunday to you all!

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): WHOA-asis! - 10/17/10 06:09 AM
Speechless Sunday (almost!): WHOA-asis!
While driving to Mesquite, Nevada to check out the motorcycle track for our oldest son, we came around a bend in the road that leads to The Palms Golf Club and I said Whoa! Stopped the car and took this shot. Similar desert scenes like this one are often seen in movies but this is a golf green and a gorgeous sight among the natural brush softscape of the desert.
It is indeed the center of attention and a WHOA-asis for sure!
Mesquite, Nevada is a 45 minute drive from St. George, Utah.

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Ohhhhh! You mean T-H-A-T sign?!

Oopsie!
Apparently the person who backed into these signs, failed to see the other 8 that are in the same vicinity. This area is used for commercial bus parking while people visit the local McDonald's. The signs have been left in this condition, perhaps as a warning to other motorists.
Just looking at them would be a deterrent for me. No parking indeed!

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): Ready for some FOOTBALL? - 08/22/10 07:14 AM

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Ready for some FOOTBALL?
We are a Denver Bronco household and look forward to the regular football season to start. Even Bronco, our dog is excited!
It means getting out the jerseys and making football friendly finger foods and cheering on our favorite team!
We have a football that we pass to each other when our team makes a key play...it keeps everyone involved and excited about the game.
I am one of their biggest fans because watching the Denver Broncos play is in my blood! I even bet a Cleveland Browns fan that I'd eat a … (15 comments)

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): Come on in, the food's fine! - 03/07/10 06:38 AM

Our piglets would always come running when it came to meal time and there were always a few who really got into their food, literally! This feed container is only 12 inches round and at times, there were at least 4 piglets insde jostling for a better eating position.
It's been a long time since I got this excited about eating! The last time probably was the white bread banana sandwiches my Aunt Clara used to serve, especially in the heat & humidity of a Georgia summer. Somehow, they seemed to be so refreshing or maybe it was the anticipation of knowing I … (18 comments)

Robert Southey, a poet in the 16th Century must have been blessed with the unpredictable lives of kittens! I have to say his quote about kittens is spot on because Hiway certainly has blessed our household. Her many colorful antics, never-ending playfulness and stalking tactics continues to brighten our home and our moods on a daily basis! We are indeed lucky to have her as a member of our family!

speechless sunday almost: Speechless Sunday (almost!): Put me in Coach! - 02/07/10 02:32 AM

Could you get motivated if you knew you could make $83,000.00 in just one day?! That is what each winner of the Superbowl will be taking home, not to mention the big honking $5000.00 bling ring!
Put me in Coach!
Heck, the losers take home $42,000.00 each and a piece of jewelry too!
Put me in Coach!
The Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, is looking to win his second ring. The Saints seem to be the fans favorite this year as they've never taken a Superbowl. Drew Brees would love to win one for New Orleans!
These players just need to … (19 comments)
