An amazing sunrise renders the morn, masterly fending off the day. ~ Wanda Kubat-Nerdin

Have you ever got caught up in a sunrise, wishing it would just last a little longer before disappearing into the day? That is how I feel when a spectacular lightshow makes a brief appearance.

Of course, I admit to have enjoyed every single one that nature offers. Happy day all, may yours be especially bright!

the beauty of mother nature: Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly! - Unknown - 02/13/18 06:25 AM
Your wings already exist. All you have to do is fly! - Unknown

In an attempt to visually inspire others, I continue to come across photos that were taken several years ago. I previewed a home in Washington Fields, a suburb of Washington City for some potential buyers. Leaving for the office, I noticed a man exercising a bevy of doves.

Time and again, they would soar high into the sky effortlessly, turn sharply and land, then repeat. They were mesmerizing and I was lucky to get this shot of them against the mountain range, partly sunny / cloudy. This quote came to mind as they continued their … (8 comments)

the beauty of mother nature: Give and get back! - 08/30/15 06:56 AM
Give and get back!

Life tends to be challenging, especially the never-ending twists and turns of events that happen outside the scope of control. Smiling helps to elevate the mood, strengthen resolve and can inspire others.

Try smiling at someone and receive a smile in return. See? It really works!

Happy Sunday all from Nerdin Gardens!

the beauty of mother nature: Life can be a real prick! - 05/11/15 10:31 PM
Life can be a real prick!

Better to admire from a distance, than reach out and touch this cactus, armed with long, prickly spines. Who needs weapons when nature provides an all-inclusive means for thriving and surviving?

After several days of rain, this cactus's surface was saturated, creating the illusion that it had speared the droplets of moisture resting on it's barbs. Respect nature, appreciate its beauty and avoid the pricks.

Happy day all!

the beauty of mother nature: It's all about dem blooms. 'Bout dem blooms. No troubles! - 02/18/15 04:53 AM
It's all about dem blooms. 'Bout dem blooms. No troubles!

Spring is still technically 30 days away and makes me wonder why nature continues to push forward despite any trouble that may lie ahead in the way of:

Unexpected cold front Freezing rains or sleet Snow, delerious snow
But I do know that when it comes grabbing the eye of any passerby, it's all about dem blooms. 'Bout dem blooms. No kidding!

the beauty of mother nature: There is much wisdom to Let It Be. - 04/13/14 03:54 AM
There is much wisdom to Let It Be.
While cleaning up winter's dead limbs, leaves and tumbleweed's in the yard, my husband came across a rabbit's nest with 4 babes. Though he upset the carefully designed homestead, he knew the mom was nearby just waiting to return to the nest. He covered it back up as carefully as he could, leaving it to fate.
Isn't it interesting that some animal's needs are akin to ours, a safe place to call home for ourselves and loved ones? Nature does, is and shall be, as long as we let it be.
So, Let It Be.

the beauty of mother nature: Wordless Wednesday: Touch-me-not! - 11/09/11 12:58 AM
Wordless Wednesday: Touch-me-not!

Look but don't dare touch this plant unless you wish to be speared by its spiky points that are hidden among fern-like leaves. Birds flitter with ease over, around under and through the foliage, easily escaping its needle-like tips.
This Honeybean Mesquite tree has a built-in defense system that sprouts 3 inch spikes that have been known to puncture tennis shoes and tires. The wood from the tree is used to create a smoky flavor to meats when barbecuing.
Now, do you see why this is a touch-me-not type of plant?
I'll gladly comply.

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Size matters not, … Look at me. Judge me by size, do you? — Yoda

They may be small in stature but can Get-It-Done just as well as their larger counterparts. It may take more steps and more energy but sure enough at the end of the day, they can rest assure that size did not play a part in a job left half done or less than standard.
And besides, according to Yoda, size does not matter!
Enjoy your Wednesday all!

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Jack-o'-lantern sky.

As the sun drifts downward, yellows and oranges infuse, masquerading under the guise of a Jack-o'-lantern sky. ~ WKN

A lawmaker is proposing to change Halloween from the 31st of October to the last Saturday of October every year. What are your thoughts? Are you a traditionalist and say 'leave it alone' or do you agree with the plan?

the beauty of mother nature: Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Praying for prospects. - 10/19/11 01:50 AM
Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Praying for prospects.

Cooler temperatures have brought some creatures from cover into the open in hopes of grabbing a quick meal and this praying mantis is no exception. It is also necessary for real estate agents, when facing changing conditions, to initiate creative ways of gaining new clients.

Another lesson from Nature, there is much to learn!

Happy Wednesday to you all!
