Motivational Monday: Make someone happy, even if it's yourself!
Thinking of and giving to others has always been a reflex for me due to growing up in a large family. We shared everything! From treats to toys, to sleeping quarters to clothes, if there was a need it was done.
So while making others happy, the good feelings come right back at you, right? So why not make someone's day and...

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Chess anyone?

A chess lover's Christmas tree decorated in all its finest trimmings! Black and white with a hint of red for the season, whimsical enough for all passersby but serious enough for game players. I'm sure this tree found a home with someone who could appreciate the "Let's play chess" theme. The Jubilee of Trees undoubtedly has something for everyone!

A little history of the Jubilee of Trees Festival...
Since 1981, the Jubilee of Trees has raised more than $2 million dollars for neonatal health-care for babies as well as mothers-to-be and also to fund the Life Flight helicopter at Dixie … (20 comments)

What to do if your phone rings at 7:30 p.m. at night...
ANSWER IT!
The person on the other end just may be interested in one of your listings! It's TRUE! I received the call and arranged to meet a couple at one of my listings today...well, they are very interested and may purchase today.
If they do, I can attribute it to two simple reasons...
I answered the phone I advertised the listing in a real estate driven magazine This couple had already done some research on the property but wanted specific information while they viewed the home. I was able to … (23 comments)

Thankful Thursday: X marks the spot...X's are for tic-tac-toe‏ and kisses
I appreciate the fact to be able to express myself through any holiday with typical salutations such as: Happy Valentines Day, Happy 4th of July, Happy Thanksgiving! Of course I thought it was cute when younger to shorten Merry Christmas to Merry Xmas without giving it a second thought. It was compact and much simpler than writing the whole thing out. And that is how I marked my cards never thinking that I was taking Christ out of Christmas but realizing now that is exactly what I was … (14 comments)

Wordless Wednesday(almost!): The choice is clear!

Even Santa agrees!

This is one of the many imaginative Christmas scenes on display for the Annual Jubilee of Trees; from a Tim Burton - Nightmare before Christmas tree to a Dr. Suess - Horton Hears a Who scene. They were all festive and beautifully done. There was even a joyfully decorated joshua tree!

This year marked the 30th Anniversary of the Jubilee of Trees and honored ongoing breast cancer programs at Dixie Regional Medical Center.

Motivational Monday: A wolf spider's spin on successful marketing!

Are you strategic and aggressive regarding your marketing efforts or just throwing anything out there, hoping you'll CATCH a buyer's or seller's attention?

Hope is not a business plan and perhaps you could take some lessons from a wolf spider, they are:
Creative Diligent Aggressive Proactive Consistent Industrious Extremely detailed Territory oriented Purely Self-motivated Specific to their target market
As you can see from the picture, these overachieving spiders cover all angles in their capture area to ensure success. No wasted efforts, no excuses. A wolf spider's mission is one of survival and instinct, … (56 comments)

wandakubatnerdin: An unexpected gift creates a special 'Kodak Moment'! - 12/05/10 01:48 PM
When my husband rescued Hiway on the Interstate I-15 on ramp in Washington City, Utah, I had no idea the impact this kitten would have on our family! Two summers ago, my husband was returning to work from making a stop at The Home Depot, he noticed a blur of movement off the side of the road. Upon closer inspection, it was a tiny, tiny gray-striped kitten, emaciated beyond belief! He looked around for others but to no avail, came back to the truck, put the kitten on his shoulder, where she stayed and drove to the nearest convenience store for … (21 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Pay it Forward to a Tree!

For several years now we have bought a potted pine from the local nursery for our Christmas Tree and planted it after the Holidays in our yard. It is our little way of conserving a tree every year, a gift that continues to give back to us as we watch them grow taller and branch out in the back yard. Also, it gives animals shade and some, a home.
We are putting the new tree up today and will continue our family tradition! Happy Sunday to you all!

Thankful Thursday: Do you have a Karma Payment Plan?

I do.

I truly believe that what goes around comes around and what you put out into the universe comes back. Treat people as they deserve to be treated and the same will be done to you. The Golden Rule may not always apply with everyone you meet but is more likely to play true than not.

To ensure that you are part of the Karma Payment Plan:

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Be careful what your children wish for!

It may just happen...and IT DID!
Our two boys are always wishing for snow this time of year so they can get out in it and play! The last time we had snow like this, they were able to get the snowmobiles out and ride them in the yard and down the road. What a great day it was, the memories are still fresh in my mind.
I told my husband that perhaps we should move further south to avoid cold, snowy conditions. He agreed and said we should move to St. … (23 comments)

Motivational Monday: Proper Planning Pays!
Preparing ahead of time for touring homes with clients ensures a comfortable and successful outcome. When all set and organized, things that may happen outside of your control are better handled, so plan ahead by:
Checking the weather report in your local area

Plan accordingly for adverse conditions Allow more time to get from one area to the next Call clients ahead of time regarding dress  Meeting clients at the office, inviting them in
This is an opportunity to get all paperwork under way Make copies of pre-qualification letter View list of homes online showing location, features … (25 comments)

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Home Sweet Home nothing! I'D EAT MYSELF OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME!

If I lived in this amazing gingerbread log cabin, I'D EAT MYSELF OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME! I ab-so-lute-ly would, starting with the outside of the home, especially the caramel steps, chocolate porch and peanut butter-chocolate landscape! Roger Mucci's post had a beautiful victorian-style ginger bread house and all I could think of is what a sweet treat that would be!
So it's a good thing I do not live here because I'D EAT MYSELF OUT OF HOUSE AND HOME!

wandakubatnerdin: Who gets paid? - 11/27/10 06:04 AM
Who gets paid?
Scenario:
Mr. & Mrs. Buyer walk into the Model Home on Wednesday, is greeted by the on-site agent. They strike up a conversation, eventually signing an Exclusive Buyer's Agreement, also signing a REPC to have a new home built. The pre-construction was set-up for the following week on Monday.

The Saturday before the pre-construction, Mr. & Mrs. Buyer go to another subdivision that is owned by the same builder and manned by the same brokerage. They like the area better than the other one and sign an Exclusive Buyer's Agreement and REPC with the onsite agent on a new … (23 comments)

Utah is known and famous for its honey. Did you know that?! As you travel through Utah, honey boxes / honey combs are in plain sight with bees coming and going, doing their jobs to ensure their future. Of course, optimum conditions are necessary for the honeybees to be successful in their efforts, clean air, sunny days and mild temperatures play a large part. And if you need more proof, look up the Utah flag's history and you will see the honeycomb design.

Motivational Monday: Avoiding Overpromisification
Only take on what you're able to handle rather than overextending yourself and becoming known as one whom...Overpromises and Under Delivers.
As agents, we do not want to be compared the above description at any cost. Proper planning helps to ease problems as they arise, giving way to easier processes and procedures.
While intentions are honorable, some people take on too much and instead of asking for help; continue the same line, allowing problems to become larger and unmanageable, risking the client / agent relationship.
To avoid Overpromisification, plan to:
