illinois: 16 Kids??? We Need a Bigger House! - 05/02/07 03:16 AM
Honestly, our 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath 1950s ranch is plenty big for our family.  The truth is Kevin and I have been foster parents for the last 6 years.  Our two birth children are 9 and 7 years old.  We have fostered 14 children over the years.  They have ranged in age from 4 days to 18 years.  We adopted our 2-1/2 year old son in 2005.  We are hoping to do the same with our 9 month old daughter.
You might be asking why I am bringing this up in a Real Estate blog.  Well, May is National Foster Care Month.  … (5 comments)

illinois: Spring has to be Right Around the Corner - Doesn't it? - 03/04/07 01:26 PM
Think Spring, Think Maintenance
Spring is a season of renewal. So not surprisingly, real estate activity begins to swing into high gear. The weather is more cooperative and people want to get out of their cars.
If you are considering putting your home on the market, now's a good time to do some pre-spring and spring maintenance to make sure your home is in top shape.

illinois: Maryknoll Subdivision, Glen Ellyn - 01/26/07 03:00 PM
One of the nicest subdivisions in South Glen Ellyn is Maryknoll.  It is located in near the intersection of Rt. 53 and Roosevelt Road.  The 3000+ square foot homes were built in the mid to late 1980s next to the 25 acre Maryknoll Seminary property.  The terrain is hilly and the trees are thick and mature.
The Glen Ellyn Park District, at the request of the Maryknoll residents purchased the old, abandoned Seminary in 2000 for $5.3 million with the help of other local government agencies.  “Holes & Knolls,” a 36-hole miniature golf course and clubhouse were built in 2004.  … (0 comments)
