We've seen price reductions across the board, and this listing I came across today proves to be no exception. Finally, the City of Beverly Hills has joined the City of West Hollywood in banning the declawing of cats. This week the Beverly Hills City Council voted 5-0 to approve the declawing ban except in the case of medical emergencies. The City of West Hollywood instituted the ban back in 2003. The City of Santa Monica has recently voted 5-1 to adopt the ban. What surprised me was that the California Veterinary Medical Association opposed the ban, claiming "The decision to declaw a cat should be made by the owner in consultation with their veterinarian." The CLAW MLS (Combined Los Angeles / Westside MLS) has published an interesting area map of Median Sale Prices for single family homes, highlighting which areas in Los Angeles have been "hot" and which have not. (The Median Sales Price is that price at which 50% of all homes have a lower price and 50% of all homes have a higher price). The period examined is for August Year-to-date 2008, compared to the same period in 2007. In a recent list of "Best Cities for Singles" published by Forbes.com, Los Angeles ranked 16th out of 40 Cities considered. I was not too surprised, considering the vaste spread-out nature of the City - But I was curious to read which Cities took the top three places. First Place: Atlanta - Second Place: San Francisco - Third Place: Dallas Atlanta earned the top slot because of its nightlife, relatively high number of singles and sizzling job growth. Disclosures are extremely important in Real Estate. So as a Selling Agent in a deal where the Listing Agent fails to provide the required Disclosures one is placed in an awkward situtaion, which could have legal repercussions later on. I'm representing a client in a REO transaction and the Agent represetning the bank sent me all the standard Disclosure documents provided by C.A.R. West Hollywood - Tuesday 11: 50am Everything around me started swaying and the building was shaking. The was a rolling sensation, much like standing on deck of a ship in the middle of the ocean. The earthquake occurred 7.6 miles deep in the earth at 11:42am (PDT) and lasted for, what seemed like, about 20 seconds. As more and more Buyers and Sellers use the interenet to research their decision to buy or sell property, online sites are claiming to provide useable statistics for consumers. My gripe is with Zillow which provides Zestimates for properties. The "Zestimate" is "Zillow's estimated market value computed using a propretary formula". I have recently found that an increasing number of Zillow's estimates are way off the mark: I had one Seller show me the Zestimate for his property which was over 20% above the realistic market price for his home; and another property's Zestimate was 20% under the realistic market price of that house.
