True or False......?I've just heard that the 1973 John Lautner designed Bob Hope House in Palm Springs is about to hit the market for a mind-boggling $45 Million!
The two-story concrete and glass structure with 6-Bedrooms and 10-Bathrooms is perched atop the mountains on Southridge Drive, Palm Springs. The house is estimated to be over 20,000 sq ft in size.
This 3 acre property is on the same street at the famous iconic Elrod House.

The New York Post reports that Joan Collins is selling her New York apartment at the Dorchester, at 110 E. 57th St, New York.
Collins is asking $2.895 Million for the 3-Bed 3-Bath apartment which has a monthly maintenance fee of almost $3000.
The eighth-floor apartment is 1,900 square feet and features North, South and East exposures,

The Wall Street Journal reports that "Zsa Zsa Gabor is about to get a real-estate agent".
Several months after saying they want to sell their Bel Air mansion on Bel Air Road, she and husband Frederic Prinz von Anhalt (who back in 2007 claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby) don’t appear to have found a buyer.
“There have been a lot of agents and real estate brokerages fighting for the listing,” according to von Anhalt’s attorney.

In June of this year Pierce Brosnan and his wife listed their 3-Bed 3-Bath Malibu home for $3.9 Million.
Now, 6 months later, they've reduced the price to $3.5 Million.
The MLS Listing describes the property as "A luxurious, gated ocean view Mediterranean style artist's retreat".
There aren't many photos included in the listing, but the few pics don't reflect the image one conjures up of a high-tech Bond actor - instead, the home appears stylish and relaxed.
Brosnan and his wife are currently building their dream home which is reported to be "an eco friendly" green home, also in Malibu.

Back in April this year I blogged about Diane Keating listing her Lloyd-Wright designed property in the Pacific Palisades for $8.5 Million.
At that price she listed the house at a loss since she paid over $9 Million.
Well, it seems as though the actress got lucky or really knows what she's doing!
She withdrew the property from the market and re-listed it at $13.25 Million.
Four months later she sold it for $10.75 Million.
In the same blog in April, I referred to her Beverly Hills home which she listed for $10,950,000.

Via the celebrity gossip blogger The RealEstalker and with a little detective work of my own, I found what appears to be some pics of Dr. Phil's new multi miliion dollar Beverly Hills mansion.
The 15,000 sq ft home set on 3 acres features 5-Bedrooms and 9-Bathrooms. The Tennis Court Estate has a vaste motor court and parking area and also has a detatched private guesthouse. According to Th Realestalker the house was previously listed at $29.5 Million, but I couldn't verify this on The MLS.

Via The LA Times I discovered that the Brentwood home where Marilyn Monroe passed away has been listed For Sale at $3.6 Million.
The property last sold for $925,000 in 1996 and had previously changed hands in 1986 for $850,000.
The home at 12305 5th Helena Drive in Brentwood, CA 90049 is the only home the actress ever owned. She lived in the house for 6 months before her death.

Barry Manilow appears to be yet another celebrity caught in the Real Estate Market slump.
In June 2009 I blogged about Barry Manilow's Malibu Home that was on the market for $12.6 Million.
The List Price was then reduced to $10.9 Million, but after a year on the market the listing expired and the property remains unsold.
Manilow paid $3.85 million for the property back in 2002.

In August 2009 I blogged about Suzanne Somers Palm Springs Estate.
I commented about the massive price reduction from $35 Million all the way down to $12.9 Million (yes, a decrease of over 60% from the original List Price).
Nearly a year later and the Listing Agent's website (Lyle Realtors) indicates that "The Price is Available Upon Request".
Another Celebrity Estate remains unsold in these trying times....!!

In November 2009 I blogged about Larry Hagman's Ojai Estate that was listed For Sale at $11 Million.
Eight months later and the property is still For Sale, but now at the reduced price of $9.5 Million.
Larry Hagman and his wife, Maj, built the 43-acre property, about 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles, in 1992. In 2003, Hagman equipped the estate with a giant solar-power system, bringing his annual electric bill to $13 from $37,000.

Exactly a year ago I blogged about Joan Rivers' New York Apartment that was listed For Sale at $25 Million.
According to the Sotheby's Website the property is still For Sale, with no price reduction from last years breathtaking price tag of $25 Million.
Around the same time Joan Rivers also listed her Connecticut house For Sale at an asking price of $6.5 Million.
I checked that Listing Agent's website (Klemm Real Estate) and it appears that the house is also still listed For Sale, but has been reduced to $5.9 Million.

Actress Diane Keaton (well known for her interest in restoring architecturally significant properties) is selling her property at 14148 W Sunset Blvd in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.
The property has been listed for $8.5 Million which indicates Keaton will be selling at a loss: she purchased the 1950's Lloyd Wright designed home in February 2007 for $9.1 Million.

Josh Groban's Malibu home was listed for sale in mid January of this year is still on the market at the original list price of $6.1 Million.
The multi-platinum singer bought the house in 2005 for $4,125,000.
The 4-Bed 4-Bath home is described on The MLS as a "Magnificent Tuscan Villa with private beach rights." The 1.8 acre property includes a guest house with a recording studio, pool, spa and tennis court.

On 3/18/2010 a Notice of Sale was recorded against the title to 363 Copa De Oro Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90077.
That address happens to be the Bel Air mansion belonging to Nicholas Cage ... and the very same property that at one or another time belonged to Dean Martin, Tom Jones and Patricia Arquette.
I first blogged about this property in July 2009 .... commenting about how the property was reduced from the original asking price of $35 Million all the way down to $17,500,000.

Malibu has some exceptional looking properties .... and I think this recent listing is a great example.
3510 Sweetwater Mesa Rd, Malibu, CA 90265 is listed for sale at $12.5 Million.
Described as a "Wave Sculpture" the house was designed by architect Jay Vanos.
The 4-Bed 6-Bath home measures 7300 sq ft and is situated on over an acre of land. This unique home features a theater, bar, pool, spa and gym and magnificent panoramic views.

The biggest and most expensive Real Estate purchase for 2010 in Los Angeles, so far, has been concluded by Tom Hanks.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have purchasd a contemporary 4-Bed 5-Bath Pacific Palisades home for just over $26 Million.
The 14,500 sq ft home was built in 1996 and designed by architects Gwathmey Siegel & Associates.
