This is about a walk in the park, and a slow walk at that. Rose Park is the best place for a lazy stroll in town. I would say stop and smell the roses but there aren't any roses, go figure! I used to walk and listen to inspirational tapes when I walked. Now I just walk. One could say I'm an inspirational tape dropout. Oh, Well! rose park: These cats are never Stressed!

My cat, known only as "KITTY," knows how to enjoy life. This cat is never stressed. The glass of the coffee table is a cool spot to stretch out during a warm summer afternoon.
She doesn't worry about her diet, her exercise, or her health!
When she needs a change of pace, she just moves to the chair!
Life is good. Taking a nap solves everything. I need to remember these lessons from the cat.

It is time for Fall Activities! The Taylor County Fair is going on this week, and I haven't been yet, but I just might particularly if that would make it rain. One of my favorite places to visit in Abilene is the ZOO! One year we went on the 4th of July and the temperature wasn't too bad. Here we are clear to September, and not been to the ZOO this year. AN IDEA CAN PEEK OUT like a prairie dog from it's hole and then disappear into the hole just as quickly. In Rose Park while walking yesterday morning, a sweet little prairie doggie had his nose poked out from a little opening just beside the concrete picnic bench next to the playground. The perky little nose peeked out just an inch or so and that was it. It reminded of a time a person told me that she often had felt like she was peeking out from under a rug in her marriage. This is the sign at the S. 7th entrance to Rose Park. The park has something for everybody, walking, children's playground, skate park for older children, tennis courts, and adjacent to a public swimming pool.

rose park: Summertime in Abilene is a Walk in the Park!

It's officially summer in Abilene, because it's hot. Surprisingly, we have had rain recently and also that also means muggy. Today, I walked three miles at Rose Park and was surprisingly cool albeit by 8:30 a.m, the sun was starting to bear down. Rose Park is home of a skate park, adjacent to the tennis courts and a swimming pool, in many ways the nicest park in Abilene. At least it's the closest to my house. For newbies for walking the around the inside of the park is only a half mile. One can surely committ to at least a half mile. I confess I feel most secure … (0 comments)
