What is a CSA and how does it work? Avon Lake Waterfront is working with City Fresh, a not-for-profit CSA, or community supported agriculture program. Avon Lakers will act as shareholders, purchasing in advance a share of the produce from over 20 local, small farms within 70 miles of your neighborhood.City Fresh brings the produce to Veterans' Memorial Park each week, and shareholders pick up their produce from that location. - 09/28/12 10:21 AM
With School starting it is time when kids want ot hang out with their friends after sporting events and otehr community activities. The Avon Lake Patch recently posted a reminder of the city curfew for kids based on age as follows: The curfew for children 12 years of age and under is 10 p.m. Youngsters 13 to 15 years of age have to be home by 11 p.m. Hours are extended to 1 a.m. for those 16 to 17 years old.
Parents can understand that the idea of curfew helps maintain safer monitoring and care of our kids. (0 comments)
Here are five great ideas that will help get that curb appeal to your Avon Lake Home. 1. Earth Cultivate it, enrich it with nutrients, and plant it with interesting shrubs, perennials, annuals. Seasonal color is a must — never plant a yard in which everything blooms at once. And plants can earn you points. Not long ago, my wife, Kim, saw this perennial . It was called Serbian bellflower —Campanula poscharskyana — and it's a beautiful low perennial that has these vibrant blue flowers on it. I bought it, planted it, and never told her. Next time she was out (0 comments)

ALMU is pleased to announce a pilot program it is offering to residents living south of Redwood Blvd. on Inwood, Dellwood, and Bellaire. In order to help residents adhere with the regulation that prohibits clean water from being discharged through a sump into the sanitary sewer, ALMU is offering a $300 sewer credit or a $100 sewer credit and a drain pump (see program rules for details) to remove the clean water from the sanitary sewer discharge. Residents will be required to sign an acknowledgement, indicating that they will permanently remove the water from the sewer and will complete the repairs (2 comments)
