Triangle Area Earth Day Events Here are some great events to check out in the Raleigh area.  Earth Day 2010 is officially on April 22nd, but we have two full weeks of fantastic celebrations to enjoy. 
Earth Action Day - Chapel Hill Saturday April 10, 12pm to 5pm Earth Action Day is celebrated every year in Chapel Hill.  This year, the event will be at the new Southern Community Park, just south of Southern Village on 15/501.  Free shuttles will be available from the Shops at Eastgate to the park.  Visit www.townofchapelhill.org for more information.

Plastic Bottles Banned From All Landfills in North Carolina NC Building Nation's Largest Plastic Recycling Plant As of Oct. 1, 2009, North Carolina will no longer allow any rigid plastic containers in landfills.  This law applies to any plastic bottle with a neck smaller than the container itself, which includes water bottles, soda bottles, milk jugs, shampoo bottles, and much more.
NC is the first state in the Southeast to forward the green movement with a statewide plastic bottle ban.  Wisconsin and Massachusetts have similar laws, as do a few municipalities across the nation.
