Nationally the Associated Press reported third quarter first time default notices increased 14% over second quarter. Routt County Colorado, where Steamboat Springs is located, is trending upward as well with 86 new foreclosures documented from July-September which nets a 39% jump from 62 foreclosures in the second quarter. The Steamboat Springs’ real estate market saw 104 default notices in the first quarter of 2011.
