mortgage companies: What is the difference between this pre-election economy and the last one?

Memory seems to fail me more every year but it sure seems like we have been through a familiar pre-election economic downturn more than once before that eerily resembles this one to me. True the factors for the situation may be a little different, but it all seems way to familiar to me. It is sort of like profit taking from the voters to create a mindset that makes them want to go to the polls, as if that would really make any difference.
