airdrie: KEEP THAT FURNACE FIT - 08/25/11 07:17 AM
Is there a perfect time to book a furnace maintenance?
Here's a surprising answer to that question.  Believe it or not, furnace maintenance can be performed anytime.
The main objective is to get it booked well before the cold arrives.  ( ALBERTA...that's NOT too far away..cry)
My suggestions is to take a quick half hour, while on the patio enjoy a cold one, jot down what needs to get done before the fall and winter.
August and September are good months to book - just before the cold hits. And perhaps the rush of these service providers being booked up.

airdrie: BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIALS - 08/17/11 10:22 AM
  Back to school Theme
Ad Ideas - Every week I come up with some ad ideas for my print advertising.  I have a following of "what will Terri do next" fans.
Its fun to hear comments and laughter.  I like to keep my ads light and fun.   Real Estate can be such a down in the dumps kind of career.  We get a pile of stuff thrown at us daily.  SO - I need to laugh too.  Keeps my spirit up.
Funny hair do - feeling a bit old fashion

Feeling a bit mechanical (bbep beep)

airdrie: ACCESS TO THE MLS - 08/17/11 09:48 AM
Recenlty - I've been surprised at some comments from buyers.
They didn't KNOW Realtors® in Calgary had access to all the MLS Listings.  That we can sell property it the Province of Alberta.

Now I keep my selling area to the Calgary Region, only because I have easy access to the city and well selling outside my area is like asking your auto mechanic to repair your computer.  I don't know that area of service.
I have access to a super NETWORK that offers up services of other Realtors® in other cities.  Maybe you wish to buy a home in … (0 comments)

airdrie: HAVE YOU FILLED A BUCKET? - 08/03/11 06:52 AM
Recently I read an article about Carole McCloud.  Teaching children a concept of influence into a language so simple that a 4 year old could get it.
A simple concept that teach how kind words and actions can "fill the buckets" of the people we encounter daily, from Moms and Dads to friends and classmates.
Alll day long everyone in the whole wide worlkd walks around carrying an invisible bucket.  HAVE you filled a BUCKET TODAY?  is the question.
You fell very happy and good when your bucket is full, and you feel very sad and lonely when your bucket is … (1 comments)

How to Make YOURSELF, your PRODUCT or your COMPANY Memorable
In an overcrowded world, the only way to make an impression on your prospect is to break through the noise.
The idea of telling everybody how great you are, or you have the state of the art solutions, great customer service and the best prices in town just won't cut it.
The book "THINK LIKE A MARKETER" by Lauron Sonnier suggests a few tactics to make yourself or company stand out.
1. Do Different Things:  Its easy to stand out when you do something no one else is doing it.  You … (0 comments)

airdrie: Dragging your toes - 06/07/11 05:45 PM

Ok, so I have one for you.  I was showing a house today in Airdrie, Alberta - and my buyer noticed red marks all over the white lino floors in the ensuite bathroom.
We stopped and looked for a few minutes...and both looked at eachother....RED TOES!!!!
The lady of the house must drag her toes or something along the floor - red marks all over the floor from pretty painted toes.
Now thats - something for the books - CAN anyone TOP this for today?

airdrie: Going Above and Beyond - 03/18/11 04:16 AM
Has the recent economy effected your attitude?
I wonder?
I Know as a Real Estate Agent we all go above and beyond our "normal range" of services.
I think this is to be expected in our Service industry regardless to whatever the economy or how your day is going.
I had a recent encounter with a Mortgage Specialist - who's lifeline is well Real Estate Agents.  Brush me off, and completely ignore my questions.
YES, ok - a DEAL wasn't happening and I wasn't bringing a buyer to the table.  Not yet - but it was a question, my client has.

airdrie: SIGN CALLS - 03/08/11 07:01 AM

So, from time to time we all get them.  THE SIGN CALL...what do you do?
I know the old standard: from days gone by Training 101.  BUT do you have any NEW ideas that turn these sign calls into a good solid lead?
With new gadgets of scanning or texting signs - do we miss any of those 1 on 1 - conversations?
Recently I attended a seminar - the speaker said - we have to go back to listening and getting face to face with the public again.  (goes against the new wave technology)
SO - HOW DO YOU … (1 comments)

airdrie: THE FAIRWAYS in AIRDRIE - 03/07/11 09:12 AM
      MY COMMUNITY - THE FAIRWAYS
I was asked by potential clients the other day - If I lived in Airdrie.  They are looking to deal with a local Real Estate Agent.
It got me thinking - how often to I just assume people in my city of 40,000 know I live, work and pay taxes here.
I live in THE FAIRWAYS, in the NW corner of Airdrie. Flanked by our only 18 Hole Golf Course and wonderful Club house with a full service Restaurant (open to the public).
Typically homes in The Fairways start around the 1650 square foot range … (0 comments)

airdrie: STEPS TO GET YOUR WEBSITE NOTICED - 03/04/11 06:31 AM

Rise to the TOP
If you're running a business in 2011, its a no-brainer that you need a website.  Get your website in the fast lane of the information highway or get stuck in a cyber deadend.
To put it another way, is your website doing its job in terms of driving customers to look at and buy your services.
No matter how good your site looks, it's wasted if your online audience is too small.   As most people know, you can pay to boost your standing, at a price.  BUT there are some FREE tricks and tools that you, … (3 comments)

airdrie: Calgary Alberta Foreclosures - "Eye of the Storm" - 02/25/11 08:28 AM

‎'Eye of the Storm' Regarding Foreclosures Because of paperwork challenges, banks have delayed the foreclosure process on many properties. This has resulted in fewer distressed properties coming to market over the last 3 months. These properties will be released for sale by mid-year. Let's make sure we explain this to... our sellers. They want to sell BEFORE this discounted competition comes to market.

Based on what our head office is telling us - it might be wise to act sooner than later if you want to sell your home.

airdrie: NEW HOME PURCHASE - to Build or NOT? - 01/23/11 06:15 AM
Looking to build a NEW HOME.
Having over 10 years in NEW HOME sales there is a wide range of opportunity to build a NEW HOME in Airdrie.
Firstly - most new home sales people work only for the builder.  NOT you, and are not licensed Realtors.   The New Home Warranty benefits the builder more than the buyer, you do have rights - but make sure you understand your rights and limitations.  **Like most salespersons they have quotas to make per month, every wonder why there is so much change over in Show Home sales people?
Lots will vary in price based … (2 comments)

airdrie: LAND PRICES - 01/10/11 02:54 AM
When you think of the Real Estate Market - its not always bright.  The economy, what the dollar is worth and interest rates all factor in.
LOTS in Airdrie, Alberta really do range in price.  Starting at $147,900 to over $220,00.00 for a residential lot for a single family home.
I haven't seen the land value go down significantly - I'm still amazed at what some developers are charging.
We have some high end homes under construction in Airdrie - where prices start at $600,000.00 and go up. Some areas start at $700,000.00 before you even add all the bells and … (0 comments)

airdrie: Ipad and You - 11/23/10 04:40 AM
Having just received the ipad, its still something new to play with.  A bit addicting - but I have managed to put it down and do other things.
Now, since our MLS system here in Canada and our Realtor Site is all Microsoft based, I wondered how can I access it on my ipad?
So with a little research and checking out You Tube, plus a few Starbuck coffee's.    I DID IT.
Some apps you will need to download for Microsoft and PDF documents.
