Although the city of Minneapolis still leads on the most expensive rents in MN on average.....Rents are climbing faster in Eden Prairie than any other Minnesota city, according to new data from an apartment listing website.
Eden Prairie apartments are listed for an average of $1,040 per month for a one-bedroom unit (up 6 percent from November 2014) and $1,280 for a two-bedroom (up 6.6 percent), apartmentlist.com said...

The real estate market in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul Metro area is continuing to make positive strides for buyers, as rates remain low, and inventory although less than some major markets remains healthy as well.  This according to the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors. A sign of that health is pending sales in August were up over 12% year to year from 2014, which indicates a strong late summer market. Well, it is a sad statement....but very much true. The bad is getting better, but it is still not that good, at least from the "historical perspective". There has been a steady decrease in the percentage of homeowners that are underwater for the last 13 quarters in a row. Q2-2015 is no exception, 14.4% of homeowners nationwide owe more than their home is worth.  The average for condo owners is not as good with 1 in 5 (20%) are still upside down.   Here is four years of negative equity "healing" from Zillow

Many experts were thinking the pending home sales market was going to go in the negative again after some poor June numbers, but that was not the case! Pending sales are up one half of one percent. That may not sound like much, but in the fickle and even "emotional" decisionmaking that home buyers and home sellers are making, any improvement "affirms" their continued activity.

The Twin Cities metro housing market reached a milestone in June. Pending sales and closed homes sales reached their highest level since 2005! Year over year, ~ The number of signed purchase agreements rose 19.2 percent to 6,266. Closed sales increased 22.0 percent to 6,928.

The Twin Cities has a strong and relatively stable real estate sales market. With a 7.4% increase in new listings from 2014, with a total of 2,187. Pending sales increase 29.4% to 1,488 Pending sales, and tightening inventory was observed with of 2.9% to a total available for sale in the metro to 15,748 listings.
