Just a heads up please go checkout this site, I received a call from a man wanting to purchase one of my listings as a rent to own. I explained it wasn't rent to own and was only purchase. He said he found the listing on  Hmmmm

I have a few questions for the REALTORS out there who are also Exclusive Listing Realtors for a modular home company or builder. How do you work with the other REALTORS if you are a member of the local MLS? Our brokerage, Weaver Realtors, is the exclusive listing company for Storm Lake Custom Homes here in Storm Lake IA. The modular homes are built through Storm Lake Custom Homes, which is a separate company. Storm Lake Custom Homes represents All American Modular Homes.

My brokerage is located in Storm Lake Iowa, we are a small rural area with 3 multiple listing services within 50 miles. Our areas overlap so a number of the brokerages belong to more than one multiple listing service, which results in multiple data entry, etc for each mls. In addition to the overlap at this point (to my knowledge) none of the mls groups participate in IDX within their membership or with other mls groups (I do have an IDX agreement with one other local broker).

Just got back in the office after closing our first double sided transaction, delivering all the checks, getting the deed, ground water hazard and Declaration of Value recorded at the court house, and then I forgot the location of one of the the attorney's offices... Next tasks on the agenda change the Storm Lake mls, the websites,,,, pick up the sign (flyer box was picked up last week), send out new neighbor postcards, mail thank you letters, send thank you gifts, put it on the blogs, facebook, Tweeter, ..... … (1 comments)

mls: Rentals Needed - Storm Lake Iowa - 05/21/10 02:41 AM
As a REALTOR, I am the logical person for someone needing a rental to go to or call. Our area Storm Lake Iowa and Alta Iowa is experiencing an extreme shortage of rental properties, mostly residential. I believe it is a fairly simple problem with an equally simple solution. Any ideas out there or anyone developed a centralized place to source rentals? Today we lost a peer, a broker from our town, mls and board. It is always a wake-up call when someone you work with or know dies unexpectedly. This loss was one of those, Clara Stanley was the Broker Owner for Stanley Real Estate. We as Realtors don't always get along but when we lose one of our own we tend to close ranks and for a brief time come together as a united force. Residential property is still selling at record speed!  If you have a property to sell, call today - we have a number of new developments coming and proposed.  These developments should slow the market by increasing the inventory.  The main drive behind the fast market is lack of inventory.

According to the Iowa Realtors Association the Storm Lake Board is up considerably over 2006.The Median Price for 2006 was - $69,500The Median Price for 2007 is - $88,800That's an increase of 28%Days on Market have increasedDOM in 2006 at midyear - 86DOM in 2007 at midyear - 118That's an increase of 37%What do those numbers mean?1) Local real estate is appreciating in general - that's a good thing2) DOM is also increasing, that may not be a good thing, it means properties are staying on the market longer - possibly a reflection of the Doom Sayers in the national market. … (0 comments)
