prosper: Collection for our TROOPS- Prosper, Texas - 03/30/11 09:37 AM
My daughter, Josslyn is a member of the Student Council at Folsom Elementary in Prosper, Texas.  The Student Council Members will be collecting items for Our Troops starting April 4th-8th.
Here are the items they are requesting:
Lip Balm and Sunscreen
Socks and Undershirts (must be WHITE)
Deodorant
Shampoo and Soap
Bug Spray and Band Aids
 
Even though the collection is taking place at Folsom Elementary, they would LOVE to see participation from the community.  Your donated items are surely WELCOMED!

prosper: Prosper ISD- Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup Registration - 03/09/11 08:46 AM
The current school year is still in session but it's time to start thinking and preparing for 2011-2012.
Prosper ISD will be holding Pre-K and Kindergarten Round Up starting Wednesday, March 30th and March 31st at the PISD Administration Building Cafeteria.  Times for both days will be 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.  In order to register the student you must have all of the following documentation.
1. Birth Certificate
2. Social Security Card
3.  Current Shot Record
4.  Parent's Drivers License
5.  Proof of Residence (copy of current utility bill with parent's name on it)

Do you have clothes that fit a little snug, old computer monitors, outdated T.V.s, no longer a need for children's furniture or just anything that you are ready to depart with?   If yes, then you may consider having a garage sale.   They are pretty easy to organize and the benefits is you are getting rid of items you don't want and you get money for those unwanted items.

Friday,  November 19, 2010 is Grandparents and Special Friends' Day at Folsom Elementary.   All special guest are invited to have breakfast and lunch with the students.  This is a great time to enjoy our little ones and have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with your child.
 
 
Pre-K / Kinder-  Breakfast 7:30-8:45
The Folsom Cafeteria staff will be serving pancakes and sausage on a stick, and sausage / egg tacos.
Grades 1st thru 4th- Lunch (11:00- 1:15)  
Roasted Turkey with cornbread stuffing and several other sides will be served for lunch.

PROSPER ISD AND THE TOWN OF PROSPER IS ONCE AGAIN HOLDING IT'S ANNUAL "STUFF THE BUS".
Starting Monday, November 1st - November 5th bring your donated items to any Prosper schools in the district between 7:30 am to 4:00 pm for drop offs.

Sunday, November 7th between 2:00 and 4:00 pm the bus will visit some of the communities throughout Prosper for special pick ups in the the neighborhoods. 

All items collected will be donated to the BETHLEHEM PLACE OF PROSPER and the COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY OF MCKINNEY.

 On Friday October 22nd, Prosper Eagles will be hosting a COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE during the the Nevada Community Football game.   This will be a great night to watch a district football game along with participating in helping your town in fighting hunger for some local families.   Before the game tonight, go through your pantry and pack a box of canned goods and bring it to the game.   This is the time of the year when we open our hearts and help others that are not as fortunate as us.  Anyone and everyone is invited to participate in this great cause.

prosper: Prosper 101 is set for Tuesday Oct 19th 6:30-8:00 - 10/19/10 12:16 PM
New resident of Prosper will get a chance to get to know some of the businesses in town if they attend the annual event called Prosper 101.  This year it will be held at Reynolds Middle School Gym on Tuesday October 19th from 6:30 - 8:00.
Who are some of the businesses and organizations signed up for this year's event?
Local churches, Eagles Wings Athletics, Pac Fitness, Great Clips, Scrubbin Green, Prosper Youth Sports, Prosper Dance Force, State Farm, Town of Prosper Police, and Betsey Lucido Design.

prosper: PROSPER ISD ranked EXEMPLARY - 2010 Texas Education Agency - 08/06/10 10:41 AM
Prosper ISD has earned an Exemplary Rating under the 2010 Texas Education Agency accountability rating system.  Exemplary rating is the highest that any district can receive.  To earn this rating, at least 90 percent of a district's or school's students passed the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), 95 percent of high school student either graduated on time or continued high school for a fifth year, and the district had an annual middle school dropout rate of 1.8 percent or less.  Out of the entire State of Texas only 239 school districts and 2,624 schools received Texas' highest accountability rating of Exemplary.
