gettysburggerry: Vacation Rental Rip Offs - Beware - 11/23/10 04:40 AM
Vacation Rental Rip Offs - Beware While staying at a vacation rental recently, I was amazed at all the signs in yards advertising about summer vacation rentals. The area we were at a beach area that was in the "off" season. Clearly the area had few full time, year round residents, and quite a few of the restaurants and businesses were closed for the winter. A few of the locals were telling me that in the summer the place was like spring break with people everywhere. I noticed that the rentals signs were everything from owners, vacation rental companies, to Realty … (11 comments)

Gettysburg Adams County gets Hammered...By fall colors that is. Yesterday I was off into Adams County Orchard country to do some repair work on an apartment. Driving around I was blasted by all the colors in the surrounding forest area. I just can't remember a year as  colorful as this one is. It really was impressive. Seems we are right at the peak season for our area, get on out there, take a nice country drive and take a look at the spectacular show that is Mother Nature is putting on in the Orchard Country of Adams County.

gettysburggerry: Are We Slipping Down the Slope? - 10/23/10 04:55 AM
Are We Slipping Down the Slope?I have thinking pretty hard about where this housing market is heading. I am have to admit that there is more than a bit of trepidation on my part when pondering where we are. More and more I am hearing about policies, programs and anger. First and foremost I cannot for the life of me understand the mortgage assistance programs. Why oh why do homeowners have to be beyond help before getting any help. I have a friend who after going through a divorce knew that he would be in trouble in the coming months. When … (14 comments)

Darn Straight it Works!! SkippyToday was a good day for GettysburgGerry. Closed on another property, yeah that is cool, but what is cooler that once I am able to prove that ActiveRain is the place to hang your shingle. This closing was a direct referral from Activerain.  Put another notch in the Sentrylock card....Of course we all love closings, but referrals are the best. The silver lining to the whole thing.....wait for it, wait for it....the seller told me at the table that he is interested in doing more together in the Gettysburg Adams County area. gettysburggerry: Do We Know What we are Really Selling - I May Have Forgotten - 10/18/10 12:58 AM
Do We Know What we are Really Selling -  I May Have ForgottenSomething dawned on me today, something that I have to admit that I wasn't all that impressed with myself. I have a closing this week, and to be honest in this market I am happy to have the income flow. While I have never been a "gotta get that commission" type of agent, I also admit that I understand that I am doing this to make money. I believe there is a fine line that we Realtors walk between making a living and helping people realize life dreams. Whether … (36 comments)
